AGAIN. I see nothing about this side of the country on this site. PLEASE. Send as much as you can manage their way - support, money, whatever you can.
My hometown (Balikpapan) was literally accros the sea from this city. when this happened, some of my friends told me they could actually feel the earthquack from there.
It was started with 7,7 magnitude earthquack and continued with a 10-18 Feet tsunami. So far it’s been reported that 384 died and 540 Injured, research still continues.
My sympathy goes to the people from Palu, Danggola & Mamuju, especially to the families of those who have lost their lives, to the injured and to all who have been affected by this terrible disaster
Barakat was a dental student at the University of North Carolina, and he started a campaign last year to send dental supplies to victims of the Syrian civil war. The YouCaring effort has raised more than $70,000 to date.
Yusor had planned to begin her dental studies at UNC-Chapel Hill this coming fall. The outlet also cited UNC officials as saying that she and
Barakat were married in December — less than two months ago.
Razan was a student at North Carolina State University, where she studied architecture and environmental design. The New York Times notes that many have praised her artistic abilities; she won an award from her
school “for capturing 3-D abstract model making with time-lapse video.”
I’ve downloaded most of the videos documenting the terrible events in Venezuela (based on the master post below) and uploaded them into Google Drive, in case censorship rears its ugly head again.
To anyone who cares to read anything about the situation in Venezuela: Distrust anything Persident Maduro says, the military ARE responsible for the violence on the protests, there’sFOOTAGE of it, don’t even for a second, eat anything he spews out of his face hole.
HAPPENING NOW [VERY IMPORTANT]: Venezuela’s soldiers are killing their people. The Government is sending their armed gangs to kill them and they have censored all the media in their country, even blocking photos posted on social media sites. They shut down all the cable channels that broadcast news, so they can’t know what’s going on. The people have no source of protection at all. Students are protesting to save their country and their lives at this very moment. All they have are their social networks to get the word out so, PLEASE RE-BLOG THIS AND SPREAD THE WORD. VENEZUELA IS ON THE BRINK OF A CIVIL WAR AND CLOSE TO BECOMING A FULL COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIP. THEIR PEOPLE NEED YOUR HELP. —— Please, this is very important to me, one of my closest friends went to visit family in Venezuela over winter break and they won’t let him come back to Florida. We’re graduating in a few months and it hurts me to know that his baseball career and all of his hard work and dedication to his grades here in the U.S. was all for nothing. Please.
use the hashtags pictured at the top of this post on your social networking sites to connect and help spread the word, thank you so much! x
one of my friends is in the middle of this shit right now and it’s terrifying, she said their twitters are getting blocked so they can’t share info, their murder rate is the second highest in the world and none of the murderers go to jail because they’re government supporters, they can’t find basic household items or food in their supermarkets, their economy has plummeted, inflation increased over 50% in the two months since 2014 started, airlines have basically left the country because the govt owes them so much money, they have no access to cars or car parts, they can’t cross any borders because their govt controls them and no one is helping them.
it is fucking pissing me off that no one is helping them when they’re asking for it and need it so much. And I am so frustrated that theres not more I can do than share things like this to spread the word, that I just have to hope enough people see it that something gets done.
We are only what we know. Do not be responsible for ignorance that you can prevent. If you aren’t talking about what’s happening in Venezuela right now, I suggest that you start, and start talking loud enough to compensate for the voices that have been lost.
Would you like to be a hero?
morning reblog because this shit just keeps getting more real
Listen and understand. The game changed in Venezuela last night. What had been a slow-motion unravelling that had stretched out over many years went kinetic all of a sudden.
What we have this morning is no longer the Venezuela story you thought you understood.
Hi guys, I’m writing this update because I know there are several people on this site that are concerned about me and my safety, and also the safety of my people in Venezuela. Yesterday the military put the city into a siege, and they killed at least five people that we know of, five people who were protesting peacefully. The military is backing up a group of semi-organized crime who have firearms at their disposition. I repeat: the military is not helping the people. They’re killing them. Protests went on until this morning at six, but things have calmed down a bit since then. The city of Tachira has been in thr dark for a day and a half. They cut off their Internet. As you know, the only way that we can be aware of what’s happening in the streets is via Twitter, Facebook and Internet live streams, so this is reason for a lot of concern. The government is shutting us down. There’s only a matter of time until they cut off all internet suppliers in the rest of the country. The mobile networks will collapse. This is no longer a game, it feels like a civil war here. It’s 11 am and things have been quiet, almost too calm. We really don’t know what’s happening anymore. I’m at work, so when I get home and if I do have Internet service, I’ll be online to answer other asks people have sent me. You guy’s support mean the world to me. Thank you again for your concern.
PLEASE READ!! For years, my country has been violated in truly unfair ways. But now, with our old president (who started it all) dead, and a new, worse one in rule, students in Venezuela are rising and creating a revolution for peace against the corrupt government. The government has shut down any social networks, so there’s no contact whatsoever. This video explains it even better.
WE NEED YOUR HELP. SPREAD THE WORD. SHARE THIS POST. FOR PEACE. FOR FREEDOM. FOR HUMAN RIGHTS.
ENOUGH BLOOD HAS BEEN SPILLED. ENOUGH TEARS HAVE BEEN SHED.
