just for fun: a second go at redesigning the Triple Distelfink! I wanted to try and make it more like traditional distelfink hex signs while pushing the more magic-y vibes I’ve been playing with in some of the doodle comics! Gave it the mesh design at the bottom bc I figured this might be the original Triple Distelfink which gets adapted/simplified over time, and the icon in the heart might change depending on who/what the hex was intended for.
holy shamoly there are so many things to play with here AAA (also Gladstone doesn’t have friends like OOF anon ouch right in the kokoro)- imma waffle about possibilities for a bit so feel free to read or ignore
honestly I know I use it as a Plot Thing all the time but I still love that Gladstone’s luck originally comes from a hex- and I needed a big version of the image so I tried to redraw it to look a bit more like a hexy spoopy thing :D
Anonymous asked: okay but I need to know, are there any more comics with Gladstone suffering BAD luck?
Oh my friend, there are so many! Certainly there’s many where he loses his good luck, but if you’re going to ask me that particular question I can only link you to the mother of all bad-luck-Gander comics which is the classicThe Sign Of The Triple Distelfink(which I believe was made to celebrate the character’s 50th anniversary?). It also gives some explanation as to why Gladstone has good luck the rest of the time! Anyway, it’s made of gold.
