Will People Alive Today Have The Opportunity To Upload Their Consciousness To A New Robotic Body?

At the recent Global Future 2045 International Congress held in Moscow, 31-year-old media mogul Dmitry Itskov told attendees how he plans to create exactly that kind of immortality, first by creating a robot controlled by the human brain, then by actually transplanting a human brain into a humanoid robot, and then by replacing the surgical transplant with a method for simply uploading a person’s consciousness into a surrogate ‘bot. He thinks he can get beyond the first phase—to transplanting a working brain into a robot—in just ten years, putting him on course to achieve his ultimate goal—human consciousness completely disembodied and placed within a holographic host—within 30 years time.

I wonder if it could be hacked…

Good question.

No answer.

I always sort of laugh when people ask this of anyone, because to me it’s like asking what your favourite film is; THERE IS NO ANSWER. Some days it’s The General, sometimes it’s Paprika, sometimes it’s The Third Man, there’s no way to answer.

Same with tea; but if there’s one type that I drink far too frequently it’s this one-

… Dear god I look genuinely deranged.

Excellent.

So, initially this was supposed to be a sort of ‘why haven’t these three been drawn together before’ and a big thanks to all the followers on my Jervis and Mod askblogs (which it still is), but really, when it comes down to it, it’s also a thank you...

So, initially this was supposed to be a sort of ‘why haven’t these three been drawn together before’ and a big thanks to all the followers on my Jervis and Mod askblogs (which it still is), but really, when it comes down to it, it’s also a thank you to Batman: the Animated Series.

Without TAS, there would be no Teen Titans, there would be no Brave and the Bold- what that show did for the world of cartoons is hard to put into words. They wrote every episode to be a movie; to be a real, true story that people could relate to. They made a world that was stunning, stylized and impossible, but believable; inhabited by well developed characters voiced by some of the biggest names of the era. It finally put television animation on the map as a serious art, and brought the myths and magic of the Batman comics to the screen in a new light.

So, yes; thanks TAS. You scared the shit out of me as a kid. I owe you.
