Magistone Dump

I’ve been drawing duck ALL day, and I had to try my hand at @modmad‘s Magistone ship, because if you aren’t in love with their art, WHY NOT???

This was originally just a sketch dump, but a story kind of formed….

Gladstone Gander is a constant thorn in Magic Despell’s side. What Magica doesn’t realize, until it’s too late, however, is that this is the lucky gander’s way of flirting, and as soon as he finally confesses his love for her, their magic mixing, his luck finally runs out. Heartbroken at causing Gladstone harm (he wasn’t killed), Magica deserts him and flees to another dimension where she hopes she never knew Gladstone and they can never hurt each other again.

However, the dimension she finds herself in is run by “Mistress De Spell” who keeps a tight reign on her world’s magic. This means that her Gladstone is the unluckiest gander in the world, and the constant subject of her cruel tricks and hexes. Gladstone is initially terrified of Magica when they first meet, but they form a bond, despite Magica’s best efforts. Gladstone kindly takes her in, despite having nothing to his name besides his name, and helps Magica heal.

Eventually, the Mistress realizes Magica is there and steals Magica’s spell-book, hoping to travel to Magica’s - and our own - home dimension. Gladstone, of course, is heroically injured during the fight between the witches, taking the finishing blow instead of Magica. After some parting words, and forgiving her for hurting him, every him, he dies. Magica, having been forgiven, even if it was by another Gladstone than her own, finds it in her to forgive herself for ever falling for the Luckiest Gander in the World. She returns home, hoping to make things right.
