Those few seconds where he believes one of his only friends is also his nemesis. For all he claims to be a sociopath, his uncaring attitude, his heartless comments, he really does care for John. Whether you see it as romantic or not, you can’t deny it. And for these few seconds, he genuinely believes John has betrayed him, which I always find heartbreaking.
