in case you didn’t think this, i am in fact shallow enough to translate a comic entirely because of the stupid outfit gladstone is wearing.
this one took a while, partially bc i was taking a break, as my birthday was a couple days ago, and partially bc this one was over 60 pages; longer than any other comic i’ve done!
i might shy away from italian comics for a bit; as those are generally longer than other stories. but im also weak for a lot of characters who primarily (or only) appear in italian stories so we’ll see how that works out.
i did not double check myself on the italian for this one; it’s a french-english translation so there may be some issues, but the story is more or less the same. you guys know how i do this by now.
Synopsis : A strange problem has hit Gladstone Gander’s quiff. Now, it always looks unkempt! The only cure is the extract of daisies that grow in a very deep ditch. Donald decides to take advantage of the situation, but things are bound to go wrong…
i wanted to do a little translation of something while working on larger comics (i promise i’m almost done the paperinik vs magica one…) so i translated the ending of this comic because i just wanted some good Gladstone Being A Hero and Doing Good Things content… had to do it to em….

this comic was a lot of fun. basically goin through gyro’s life and roasting him a little. also, if you want to reject anything don rosa’s ever said it’s got an alternate origin story for little helper.
i was incredibly loose with translations this time, more than ever, and i think it made it kinda better. it’s got memes. it’s always got memes
the original comic was in portuguese though i translated it from french. tbh i couldn’t even find the original brazilian comic anywhere and try what i did with the lucky pearl so
i didn’t really try at all. a lot of the songs i just translated into other songs or didn’t bother at all…
ANYWHO…. jose carioca! what a guy! not enough english comics with him in them, though a fun hating mickey mouse takes most of the spotlight in this one, he’s still around hosting the masquerade ball!
