anon asked if there are any Gladstone-featuring stories with Daisy and I remembered this one; it’s short, but perfectly formed I’d say!

That’s some key!

“The Old Castle’s Secret” (1948) by Carl Barks.

Absolutely could not get the idea of Gladstone being “Durkburg’s answer to Dorian Gray” out of my head it was too perfect an image to pass up on

Mildly melancholy fop? Original sour-grapes flavour? I don’t even know which adaptation I prefer but I sure as heck am excited to see how he fares in the new Ducktales reboot!

oh my goodness this story

after a surprising amount of repeat demand for another Gladstone-featuring comic here’s another gem I stumbled on- I suspect this must have been when they were still pinning down Gladstone’s luck trait, as he doesn’t usually rely on charms like lucky rabbits’ feet?

anyway, way to slay in that dress, Mr. Gander

Gathering the Ducks!

This story is so funny and so nostalgically 90s I had to translate the whole thing for you to enjoy!

Stories that have the majority of the Ducks together are awesome by default.

Part two! Hope you have fun reading (opening them pages in new tabs still recommended by your doctor), it was a blast to make. Now excuse me while I go lie down and never draw cars again.

Part one here.

A happy birthday present- from me, to you! Well. And to me. Because hell this is super self indulgent even as doodle comics go, but had to get some of that hype out of me regarding the reboot.

This is part one- Part two can be read here!

anons asking for more canon kind Gladstone hijinks and this one fell into my lap

(couldn’t find the code for this but context: Gladstone is a street sweeper and keeps finding hella cash in lost jewellery, Donald arranges a set up with a bag of Scrooge’s money so he can find it in front of Gladstone and gloat…)

comic-rust-deactivated20170516 asked: Hey mod been awhile here, hey I am just starting to read the old uncle scrooge comics what are some good issues If I may ask?

Good for you! And oh no that’s an awful question to ask, there are so many! But I really do recommend the stories by Don Rosa- Treasure Under Glass (D 90227) is a classic, and A Matter of Some Gravity (D 96001) is superb in using the comic format, and The Treasure of the Ten Avatars (D 95153) is a must for any Tintin/Indiana Jones fans- really though just go out there and dive nose-deep into anything you find, there’s gold in them thar hills. Another two I have a soft spot for are Oolated Luck (AR 110) and Calling All Stars (D 7682), but I’m not certain if he worked on them.

Oh and like, everything by Carl Barks. Obviously.
