absolutely! in fact, I would love you to- that goes for anyone out there, and any language! the doodle comics are 100% none profit and I just want to make more people laugh and fall in love with the characters.
All I ask is, if you’re going to, please credit me as ‘Sarah Jolley’ (modmad is a bit vague outside of tumblr) and post a link to my home website, because that way people can find my other work and means to support me via Patreon!

I’m debating over whether or not to add those little Alternate Ducktales comics to the doodle comic section of my website or not; folks seem to like them and some have asked me to add them, I just worry that it would require too many layers of prior knowledge to understand them (but I guess I can just make a little explanation page to precede them…) if you’ve got an opinion on that please go give me your feedback on the twitter poll!
here’s an old patreon reward to fill in the drawing-hiatus void a bit; something I get asked about a lot is the ‘acting’ in my comics and how to be subtle with conveying emotions. The answer is mostly experience and constantly observing people in real life to learn about expressions, but knowing when to ‘dial up’ or ‘dial down’ emotion is very important! context is king- this is basically the same advice that Carl Barks gave on one of his reference sheets here (in a much more succinct manner!):
sneak preview! slowly picking up doodle comics again, also I know it’s like a running joke by now that the doodle comic with the cat is never gonna happen but I’ve dropped doing that one (for now) in favour of this story because the cat one has a billion bg characters and environments whereas the setting for this is like… a big empty lake. with a boat. which is an awful lot easier.
so yeah it’s gonna be a hot while ‘til I finish it while don’t wait up but thought it’d be nice to at least give you a head’s up :’D
eyy so my hands are starting to heal, and if I’m feeling plucky I’ll try doing some light sketching tomorrow. TPoH is still definitely not gonna be done by Sunday so sorry about that, hopefully next week it’ll be alright? Good news! Even though I can’t draw at the moment, the new doodle comics page is up and running on my home website! Meaning that all my duck comics are now in an easy to find, easy to read place, yippee!
Feels kind of strange doing art for previous stories, but as I’m going to be posting these on my website in their own ‘doodle comics’ section I’ve found I need to add title pages to some of them/incorporate the title in the first page somehow so it’s clear where one ends and another begins. It’s horribly tempting to go in and fix all the big obvious mistakes too, but I have to convince myself to ignore them and get on with making the new stuff!
Anyway here’s a quickly done cover for The Sorceress’s Apprentice which I’m sure some of you recall… I had a good time making this one, and it was the first where I really started to think about not worrying about making my art look like the original comics and just embracing my scratchy scribbly makeshift ways.
so as some of you know I’m making a page for the duck doodle comics for my personal website, and it’s come with quite a selection of interesting problems
as well as having to write a this-is-just-fanart-for-fun disclaimer so Disney has no excuse for trying to sue my penniless behind I realised that a lot of the comics refer to A Gal For Gladstone- and as I can’t exactly post the original comic or link to it on a personal portfolio type site I ended up making a couple of picture-book style pages to summarise the story. I might tweak things but I figured you guys might appreciate having them here too :D

absolutely! there’s nothing I like better than making stories more accessible- same goes to any of you, if you want to translate these fan comics into any language, please do so! as long as you link to the original and credit me (and perhaps make mention that they are not official comics! although that should be obvious…) and as long as you’re like, Not gonna try to make a profit off them ‘cause that would cause a whole heap of Disney Copyright Issues yikes
ANYWAY basically I’m always very happy for these doodle comics, or indeed any of my stories, to reach new and different audiences- and if you do translate it and post it online please send me a link so I can reblog it, I like seeing what languages are happenin out there :D

sorry pal I don’t want to get sued by Disney by publishing things with their characters! glad you like them though, and I’m working on making a page for the doodle comics for my home website, so they’re easier to find and read! I’ll try to get that done and running in January, but until then I hope you can cope with me posting them here on tumblr FM
