these are the same panel. yeah. so look man we all got things we do and don’t like to draw but basically every challenge is an opportunity to learn on the job and if sometimes you need to grab some good photo reference and knuckle down and study that shit you just gotta do that :Tb
OKAY SO I CAN’T POSSIBLY POST ALL THE THINGS I GOT but there were so many wonderful responses to this latest duck comic I had to at least grab a couple and man???? you guys are so amazing and I love you? I really couldn’t make these without you and I am just so happy if I’ve made something that people resonate with- the world is in such a fragile and uncertain state, I was rather terrified of making this comic but it was part of the reason I had to? so thank you for letting me feel able to make these and I’m so glad if I’ve introduced/reignited people’s interest in the duck comics as a result!

you’re twisting my arm here (and you’re right it’s going to be Long While before it’s finished), but I don’t want to spoil things, so I’ll just give two little samples of Carl Barks which have fed into its inspiration: one, the shading and overall vibe of this panel of Only a Poor Old Man -
And this line of Gladstone’s in A Christmas for Shacktown (he also says it in a couple of other stories like A Financial Fable)

eh, probably from beginning to end? I post them chronologically in the masterpost and on the doodle comics part of my website, but I did try to write the stories so that you could read just one and it would more or less make sense without having read the others! that’s one of the things I love about the original duck comics- you can just dive right in at any point!
prolly going to be slow on posting stuff for tumblr this week bc I’m trying to get all the roughs down for this doodle comic, anyway have some spoiler free Gladstones and such
