HEY, INTERNET!

Today is the last day to SAVE THE BBC!!  In case you didn’t know, the BBC, which brought you, the internet, such things as Sherlock, Cabin Pressure, Doctor Who, Monty Python, The Great British Bake Off, and millions of other wonderful things, is facing massive budget cuts and reorganisation. The body considering these changes wants to hear from the general public, which means YOU, what the BBC means to you and what you want it to be going forward.  You can either fill out a survey (you don’t have to answer every question) or write an email to BBCCharterReviewConsultation@culture.gov.uk.  The consultation period ends today (Thursday, October 8th) at midnight UK time, which is 7:00PM Eastern/4:00PM Pacific if you’re living in North America.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make your voice heard!!  Even if you only write a line or two, tell them what you think!  And spread the word!

Western Hemisphere reblog!  If you’re at work, just dash off a quick email, it’s better than doing nothing …

it’s ridiculous that this is even happening, but it is, and you can do something about it!

please, help the BBC keep making the magic happen

(also apparently the survey takes 20 minutes and some people find it biased and annoying so maybe go with the email option if you can :Tb sorry)

The most amusing thing is this IS exactly how the BBC report on practically everything.

It’s ALWAYS like this and it makes me furious.

Recorded off 28 Acts in 28 Minutes, this charming lullaby originally appeared on an episode of The Consultants.

Aaah, my mother used to sing this to me every night :’)

The lyrics of ‘Bob the Builder’ to the tune of ‘The Girl From Ipanema.’ I, now, cannot hear one without thinking of the other.

This was one of the first things I ever recorded off Radio 4, and the One Song To The Tune Of Another round is still one of my favourites, in one of my favourite shows, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.

OMG I LOVE THIS RADIO SHOW YES.

THIS IS REQUIRED LISTENING.

Hrm. Let’s NOT do an Inception joke and say we did, mmkay?

Uhm uhm uhm BACKSTORY I GUESS
I was reading Mod’s webcomic The Property of Hate (lovely title, fills me with so much hope!) and looking through their blog trying to figure out what the hell was up with that dapper bloke with a telly for a head and I guess it ended up triggering my odd love for test patterns and I remembered I had YET to finish my vectorization of a widescreen version of Test Card F (technically “W”) that fit my screen so I could put in my own things for my own twisted pleasure.
…The rest just kind of made itself up, as you can imagine.

I KNOW WE DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT TOBY YET but I know that if there’s one thing all kids raised in the UK from the 70’s-early 90’s knows is that THE CLOWN ON THAT TEST CARD IS FRIKKEN EVIL IT’S JUST UP TO NO GOOD YOU GUIS so considering what very, very little we know about TOby being an creepy little dickweed of a doll it should work fine.

…I don’t think either of them want to be there…

I put the BIGGAR version of the art in its own image in ~*Family Circus Style*~ mainly because I did put a good amount of work into it, although if we do want to go into “does the picture proportional in how much of two elements are visible compared to how long each took?” (that was a clumsy as hell sentence) frankly it’s kind of accurate…

Oh my god I want to say so much about this but I can’t because hnnnnnnnng damnit why am I the author this isn’t fair.

Suffice to say this is brilliant.

I love you.
