You are a wonderful, unique person, and you are kind and generous enough to send a message like this to me and you are brave and honest enough to say how lucky I am/was/will doubtless be and you are so so right because I am just so grateful that things turned out the way that they did with my (ongoing) education but part of that is due to the fact that I am IMMENSELY aware of the fact that it was all so unlikely and how many others won’t have the luck and privilege that I have had so it’s my bloody duty not to abuse or deny any of it and say that yes, that what I have been able to experience and share and learn and the places I have learned it in have been marvelously valuable and unusual but the hardest and biggest and most important lessons I have learned have been when things have been going wrong and have been awful and dreadful and I didn’t think they were ever going to end but they did and I didn’t wait for people to save me but I had people to push me to help me save myself and remember that one bad day is not enough to stop you trying to create something good and great and that if one person says something is not great that doesn’t mean that it is especially when there are ten people saying it is and you have to listen to them and you even if it’s hard to listen to those eleven people over the one other jackass because hey humans are just lousy at maths like that and also dealing with things like infinity because that’s another very very big reason is why is it so, so important to be you and remember that you are you and that’s just AMAZING because nobody else in the entire universe can be you, no other person in any other universe can be you, you are the only you that is here and now and was yesterday and will be tomorrow and that’s just so fantastic do you even know how brilliant that is I mean it is so just

THANK YOU KIND PERSON FOR ASKING THIS QUESTION AGAIN anyway this would still work better if I had the time to animate it to demonstrate, but personally I imagine it to move like a music visualizer. The core shape is always driven by his ‘expression’, but when he speaks the line pulses as it matches the sounds in that slightly jerky drifty way that audio bars do.

I don’t know if I encouraged the first anon or inspired others but THIS IS WHAT I WAKE UP TO??

Oh, gosh, uhm, wow well shucks that’s very nice of you to say all those things first of all! But honestly I’m not really sure either; titles like ‘freelance animator’ and 'storyboard artist’ always seem far too big and impressive and really I’m still a complete baby at it all even if I’m already working in the industry on and off.

I suppose the word I feel most comfortable with is 'cartoonist’, but then I don’t know if I qualify as one of those either! Anyway that is a thing that I would very much like to be so I would be very happy if you settled for it.
