Anonymous asked: hello! so I might be being petty, but on your Smackjeeves TPoH site under the title bar most people have a little description of the comic, and yours just says 'a voyage'. Is there any reason you used voyage? I mean I get the gist, but I would have thought 'journey' was the more obvious choice?
Obvious choices aren’t as much fun as carefully considered ones.
Anonymous asked: omg I just read the tags for that Poirot picture you reblogged- #there was this one time someone nearly opened a door into my face and I balked and said #I SAY #really freakin loud #my class didn't let me forget it for months #but yeah I got called Captain Hastings a few times after that #so I have a soft spot for him too ;w; MOD IS THIS TRUE
YES AND I’M NOT EVEN KIDDING I’VE NEVER SAID THAT PHRASE SINCERELY BEFORE OR AFTER IN MY LIFE BUT THAT SURE WAS A THING THAT HAPPENED
Anonymous asked: Hey, so, uhm, I just read back a loooong long ways through your blog (which I love) and I found out you said Hero's mother is from Kolkata originally? Which is kind of awesome to me, being Indian myself (from Guwahati, hello from my country!), I was just wondering, is there any particular basis for it?
Hello to your country too! Wow, it’s always so exciting to find out where my readers are based, and yes there is a reason; Hero’s mother works for a newspaper as an editor and is a very open minded, quick-witted woman. She’s very clever, liberal, and loves to tell stories! I always knew she would be from India, but after doing some more extensive research I thought it would makes sense for her to be from Kolkata; I hope that you agree, and thank you so much for reading!

Anonymous asked: Um, hi, ah, excuse me please, um, I would like to ask why RGB doesn't really seem to wear socks? If it's too spoilery or anything that's okay, you don't have to answer! I just thought it might get a little uncomfortable, ah, with those shoes, um, for him, sometimes, but, ah, yeah... t-thank you! I love reading TPoH! ^////^ -a slightly shy person
Ahaha! Interesting; you’re the first person to ask about that, actually! Had a few people asking about Hero, but not RGB- anyway, I won’t answer directly (do I ever) but there might be a bit of clue as to why coming up in the next few pages…
Anonymous asked: wait... you made that film... your name is Sarah JOLLEY?! THAT'S SO AMAZING and appropriate omg
I can’t even tell you the number of times I have been asked if I changed my name to Jolley when I started working in cartoons and I’m always just like
“no… it was-”
*dramatically looks out of window, wind generator turns self on, excessive lens flare from nowhere, thunderous whoopie-cushion sfx resounds in the distance*
“-my destiny”.
Anonymous asked: part of me desperately wants you to make a full length animated feature but the other half is terrified of what you would do to the world's emotional state
goodness wouldn’t I love to! I have several in my head, one in particular (the full version of SKIP which is very different from the 3 minutes short) that I feel I absolutely have to try to make before I die even if I end up drawing the whole damned thing myself on post-it notes with a lump of coal
unfortunately I suspect the other half of you is entirely justified
Anonymous asked: scrolling back through all your posts like a boss I noticed you mention you partly based RGB's physique off figure ice skaters, so... can he ice skate?
Well that’s partly true; RGB’s build has influence from a lot of places, but the gist was for him to be short, elegantly proportioned and athletic. He also has quite dynamic movement, so researching figure skaters made a lot of sense. As for the question, yes! But he’s better at and prefers roller skating (blades on shoes- no thanks).
Anonymous asked: Can I ask how old you are? Cause you seem tiny.
I am tiny! But I am actually 25 so I guess I’m probably old for some people =v=
Anonymous asked: Can you draw yourself realistic?
HAHAHAHAHA WOW NOW have you even seen my face I would have to be realistic in the first place
