I just needed to draw something… to sort my busy busy thoughts.
aaaa dimisfit your pictures always make me feel so peaceful (´▽`ʃƪ)
Hey tumblr culture lovers! So, I’ve been wondering about this for some time now but I haven’t been able to find an answer via my usual means of research, and I’m the first to point out my staggering ignorance in the big wide world of fancy-ass terminology, so maybe one of you can help me out?
I was wondering if there’s a name for the cute-glittery-gore art movement that I’m such a lover of. You know the stuff. Beautiful and pastel and shiny but also disturbing and visceral; sort of vore/sweetshop or Goya meets an exploded plastic factory style. Big stars in overly cutesy eyes with a distinct air of decay just to amp up the sugary tooth-rot factor. I love it, but can I search for it or read about it? Can I didgeridoo.
As much as I see it on my dash I’ve never seen a general term for the style in the tags, and it’s definitely got to have its own genre at this point with the amount of art I’ve seen.
So, er, yes, does anyone out there know if there’s a specific term for it?
EDIT: Apparently a common term is candy gore?? Just in case there are others wanting an answer :D I’m still open to other suggestions though?

Haunted Play House At The MoCA In Tokyo by Torafu Architects via Yatzer
This ‘Haunted House’ is not like any you will have seen before and comes in the form of a spooky gallery of paintings that at first seem ordinary but soon turn out to have some hidden surprises in store. The concept behind Torafu Architects’ ‘Haunted Play House’ is to challenge perspectives and norms where rules are broken as children are actually encouraged to run, shout and touch – activities usually forbidden in a gallery or a museum.
