Anonymous asked: thank you so much for all the duck art, also can I just say THANK you for making all your duck ladies the round soft actual duck-shaped-ducks that they are? I've always been curvy and cuddly and I always loved that Daisy, Magica, Goldie etc. were so comfortable and fabulous and confident with that beautiful soft pear shape they- and I- have. I really like how you keep them true to that and allow them to be beautiful and (in a way) sexy! Not despite it, but because of it? You embrace it so well.

aah shucks man, thanks, and same? a lot of my favourite gals from the Disney ‘verse- like Magica, Clucky from Robin Hood, Ursula from the Little Mermaid etc.- are shapely, powerful, funny and confident and they look fantastic but it’s partly because they absolutely know that they look fantastic. I love lots of the slender built characters too, but there’s something so wonderful and empowering about the comic duck characters because they are… ducks! They never disguise that. They make use of the fact that they’re small, comical and cuddly, and yet that never in any way dents the heartfelt moments and the serene dignity that they can portray. Sometimes they’re put at a disadvantage because they are so short! But they can always overcome it, and nobody ever ‘looks down’ on them in terms of intelligence or strength. They always somehow match sincerity and elegance with their fun loving comedy, and they are every inch as- if not more- beautiful to me as the conventional princesses!

Anonymous asked: Hey mod, would you be alright with it if I were to get a tpoh tattoo? I totally understand if the answer's no, but I have mighty need to have the phrase "what do heroes do to monsters" somewhere on my body

absolutely go for it! it’s your body, your decision- frankly I’m very honoured that something I wrote means enough for you to consider it!

Anonymous asked: Mod, I might go to college next year to become a 3D animator, would you mind if I animated some for TPoH?

NO I WOULDN’T

Anonymous asked: mod I just carved my way through all your doodle comics and I am now absolutely addicted, also how do you plan establishing shots and crazy things like buildings I just- I don't know how to start because I hate doing them so much is there a technique?

ahahaha good yes excellent, and also well uh I dunno what to tell you man because I find them very very hard myself! example;

these are the same panel. yeah. so look man we all got things we do and don’t like to draw but basically every challenge is an opportunity to learn on the job and if sometimes you need to grab some good photo reference and knuckle down and study that shit you just gotta do that :Tb

Anonymous asked: question! if Gladstone's birthday is the same as his mother's (the 15th of August) do you think they had the same personality bc of their horoscope? I always saw Daphne as being more drifty and harmonious and sweet, rather than the slightly showoffy stand-out type like Gladstone

good question! I don’t really subscribe to horoscopes, but I think in the duck comics they’re kind of accepted as a sub-branch of magic (and Gladstone has successful read his accurately in canon stories) so it probably sticks. I think while they have the same Sun sign (Leo), they would have two different Moon signs- if we take Gladstone’s year to be 1947 (the year we believe he was invented, if not first published) his moon sign would also be Leo, which fits with the centre-of-attention needs-to-be-loved showoff type that he is. If we guess that Daphne was in her twenties when he was hatched I would guess her moon sign would be Libra (eg. 1923), which is all about balance and communication. Alternatively she could be a Pisces (1927), which fits the kind of loopy dreamy easy-going vibe we get from the fragments of story she has…

but this is all kind of getting way deeper than we need to and years are never ever specific in the duck comics bc what is immortality :Tb

while we’re here though I have this headcanon that Daphne and Goostave fell in love because he was this solid, dependable, funny-because-he’s-so-serious kind of guy with a repressed sense of humour and strict upbringing, and she’s this floaty charming giggly fun dreamer brought up by the best most open minded mom ever (aka Grandma Duck) and they found they balanced out and gave each other the stability/freedom match they needed.

Anonymous asked: what kind of texture/ filter are you using for the rainbow trip thing going on?

Many

Anonymous asked: would you say donald duck is physically strong? or just really, *really* determined?

Basically in terms of physical strength I’d say that Donald, Gus, Abner and Scrooge are at the top end (though Scrooge’s lumbago and age get in the way most of the time- if we’re talking Young Scrooge though, yikes), closely followed by Daisy and Grandma. I see Fethry and Gladstone as being sorta average- Fethry is athletic even though he’s skinny and Gladstone is one of that lucky breed with super fast metabolism, so that combined with occasionally going on a sports event winning bend balances out the laziness :Tb

Anonymous asked: so I'm Finnish and my husband is a Swede and we both. absolutely love your duck comics- they're so true to the originals it just, feels like the actual characters speaking and doing what they'd really do? it's so good anyway we both think that the services you're rendering to the duck comics means you should be granted honorary Swedish/Finnish citizenship wtg

I WOULD LOVE THIS MORE THAN ANYTHING I’ve always loved Finland thanks to the Moomins and one of my best friends lives in Sweden also I am terrified of Brexit please save me pl

Anonymous asked: Out of curiosity, are there any other fandoms you have ever daydreamed of doing a doodle-comic of?

o gosh man plenty, I have done a lot of fandoms other than the ducks- osomatsu-san, ace attorney, Wander Over Yonder etc. etc.- I keep meaning to make a masterpost of those as well but I can never find the time to go rummaging back through all my art tag! but sure I’ve wanted to do doodle comics that have never come to pass, I just have to use what energy I have for the thing that has enough inspiration at the time (for more information refer to that one really distressing bit in the Black Market in TPoH)

Anonymous asked: Oh yeah, classic universe Della definitely raised them up until they were toddlers.
