theslitherydee asked: I was wondering if you could give a brief explanation of Melody's anatomy -- I'm having a bit of a hard time trying to identify which body part each instrument is supposed to represent. (Note that I've always been terrible at this sort of thing, so you shouldn't take my confusion to mean her design is unclear.) Also, just wanna say that Melody and Julienne are the coolest. We're still on their introductory scene, and they're already high on my list of favorite characters.

Sure thing! She is fairly complex so here’s a colour-coded break down for you

hope that helps! Also just to help a bit the triangle isn’t an ear but a shoulder blade- she moves and is built quite like a buffalo/gorilla so her forelegs are quite stiff and stompy. The tambourine acts as her ‘brow’ so it tilts down when she’s cross, and up when she’s happy or surprised! The face is a strange sort of lyre that I found in a book but I couldn’t find a name for it, sorry :\

EDIT: apparently the lyre thing is a ‘lyre-guitar’ and a whole bunch were made but they were all slightly different, so that’s why I couldn’t find another that matched the one in the book I have!

Anonymous asked: Curious, what would Hero's, RGB's, and your western zodiac signs be?

Hero is an Aquarius (February 10th), RGB is a Gemini (May 21st) :D

oh and I’m a Pisces sorry missed that the first time

Anonymous asked: What are RGB and Hero's zodiac animals? I did a little research and I like to think RGB may be a snake and Hero is a rat. By the way, what's YOUR zodiac animal?

Well congratulations, you’re dead on with Hero! She is indeed a rat (born in 1996), but RGB is actually a rooster (born inaahHAHHAHAHYOUREALLY THINK I’M GOING TO SAY) so yes, there you have it!

as for me I was born in a year of the dragon (1988 baby, yeah)

capps234 asked: Hey Mod I was rereading TPOH and I noticed something. When RGB sleeps with his jacket on, the colours change the next day; yet with if he sleeps with his jacket off, the colour don't change. Is that correct or am I imagining things again?

a nice try, but actually if you recall the first two chapters he goes to sleep in the red/blue jacket and wakes up with it exactly the same!

the reasons why and when RGB’s clothes can/do change colour will become a little more evident as the story progresses, but just to confirm for those who have been wondering it is not caused by him sleeping :Db

Anonymous asked: you should draw RGB in skinny jeans! I mean he's skinny, right?

ahaha actually

Anonymous asked: Ah, but the real important question remains: Would RGB canonically wear a dress and/or skirt? (same question for Hero)

Of course he would, he just has very particular taste and there might be other complications but we’ll get to that, as for Hero she would but only if it didn’t get in the way of EXPLORING and having FUN because that is important >:|

Anonymous asked: if you were going to animation RGB and Hero how would they move? Like are there any other animated characters/actors you think they would move like?

Hm, cool ask! Well RGB can be fairly fluid but also has some stop-start panic to him, so he would probably have a motion style a bit like Miguel from Road to El Dorado mixed up with Basil from the Great Mouse Detective. As for Hero, she’s a funny little beast… She’s generally very calm and toddles about in a wondering, sedate sort of way. She’d probably move a lot like Winnie the Pooh, but when she’s clambering about on trees and such she’s quite animal-like, so there’s probably a bit of Stitch in her movement type too!

cosmo-ren asked: How would you feel if one day you got a call and they asked you if a cartoon of tpoh could be made

I would feel honoured but frustrated because I would probably have to say no????

There’s so many gags and world things that rely on the comic format and how comics work I just don’t know how well it would translate; it was part of the building point for the adventure like ‘hey well if I’m making a comic why don’t I do things that only comics CAN do yeah that’ll be insanely difficult to convert into other mediums fun.’

Anonymous asked: TPoH is a story that you've completed, or have nearly completed, right? Is it difficult to have patience when you're working on these pages that take place in the beginning, or just before a really fun scene/important plot point? It's impossibly overwhelming sometimes, when you know there's just SO MUCH MORE to get to and you wonder how. My impatience tends to get the better of me when I work on stories, like I just want to rush to the "good bits".. have you ever had that? How did you manage it?

mostly I just lie face down in a pillow and make unintelligible screaming sounds

Anonymous asked: but seriously I'm just sat here waiting for what happens when Neil Gaiman finds out about TPoH like what will your fandom even do

well first of all they’ll have to hold a funeral

for me

because I will die
