FLORA AND FUNGAL is our topic for the Object Head Zine 2018 edition! Explore the depths of your forests, the backyard woods, your balcony garden. ALL submissions will be accepted so long as they follow the guidelines below. Each person has a limit of up to 3 submissions. This will be a DIGITAL ZINE ONLY and will be available free upon completion (donation optional). The guidelines are as follow:
- Illustration-quality works in either digital or traditional mediums. Both colour and b/w acceptable; background required. *BG can be as simple as a pattern or colour block! Avoid utilizing a camera to submit your images, please use a scanner.
- The default size will be 6″x9″, 300 dpi (1800px x 2700px) but feel free to go larger or smaller, so long as it follows those proportions. Please work in a vertical format.
- For consistency’s sake, keep faces to a minimum (You can have eye(s) or you can have mouth(s) but don’t have both in a humanoid arrangement.)
- Please go for original characters (or fanart of your friend’s characters) and not so much established floral object heads.
- If you want to include humans, that’s fine as well but keep the ratio of people to object heads 1:1. Same goes for non-plant/fungal object heads. If you want to include both non-plant/fungal and humans in your image, make sure the majority goes to floral object heads!
- Content should be at most PG-13: Romance is fine but after hours business should not be implied, Blood is fine but no gore. In the end, use your common sense.
Feel free to draw a comic or just an illustration! A comic counts as one submission.
Note that if a submission does not meet the above guidelines, I will either reject your submission or suggest improvements that would help your piece fulfill them. Hello Tumblr, not entirely sure who still pays any attention to this ol’ washed up blog, but in about 1 minute I’m going to be 24 years old. I don’t want any fanfare, no fuss, no muss.
If ya’ll aren’t already aware, I am a proud Armenian currently living in Canada, and for the last day or so, I’ve been blogging about a movie that was released very recently. “The Promise” starring Christian Bale (Batman) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron.) It’s a movie out of Hollywood about the Armenian Genocide, the very, very first of its kind.
The only thing I want for my birthday is for you, all of you, to get on imdb and give the movie a ten star rating (You can sign in with your facebook to do so.). This is to offset the ignorant thousands (Essentially Turkish 4chan) giving it a one-star before it had even been seen by that many people, in their effort to suppress the movie’s success and hide the Genocide from the rest of the world, something the Turkish Government has been trying to do since the atrocities of over 100 years ago, on April 24th, 1915. (Great Birthday for an Armenian, don’t you think?)
That’s all I ask, really. All I can really ask. Being in the industry, I can tell you this movie is an exceptionally well made piece of cinema, no expense was spared, and in my opinion, it’s Oscar Isaac at his best. But it is not a nice movie. It take places during a Genocide. And it’s not light handed about this fact. If you’d like to see it as well, then thank you for that. That would make me so happy. It would make my entire community happy. I thank you all in advance.

As many of you know, I’m peruvian. Our country is going through dark times right now. This is the hottest summer we’ve had and some rivers have colapsed, ocasionating floods. We are not prepared for this at all. We need help.
Even in places where the water of the rivers hasn’t come, we don’t have water since yesterday and there is no way to buy water in supermarkets cause there is no bottled water. Let’s not talk about the food, everything is much expensive right now and there are almost no vegetables or fruits.
A lot of people have lost their houses and the places where they live and the government is deciding if tomorrow they will decree the Capital city in state of emergency. This not only is happening in Lima but in many parts of the coast of our beloved country.
We are not ready for a disaster like this, because it happens, but not in two consecutive years.
Please, if you see any way of helping us, at least giving one dollar or less, it’s a lot for us.

Rivers are getting out, rain is getting harder, weird big clouds are on top of the sunniest cities and water and mud are taking over cities destroying it all without mercy.

Hi again everyone! I have the pleasure of bringing you some long-awaited news. If you have any musically talented friends who would be excited about the opportunity to participate, you better tell them about the project now, because we have a deadline!
In honor of Modmad’s birthday, the deadline for submissions to become a musician is March 6, 2017.
Applying here as soon as possible will give us the maximum time to review your submission and ask you any questions that we need to before making our decision. I’ve had the chance to hear a bunch of great samples, and let me tell you, it’s making me super excited for what we’re going to create. We’re in a good place now, but the more the merrier.
