I’m making a for-fun, non-profit zine featuring object heads! Once completed, it will be put up as a free-to-download pdf. Those who participate, however, will receive a physical copy of the zine (paid out of my own pocket) shipping included!

What I Need:
Artists who’ll contribute object head illustrations to this free zine!
Specifically, I’m looking for:
Illustration-quality works in either digital or traditional mediums. Both colour and b/w acceptable; background required. *BG can be as simple as a pattern or colour block!
6”x9”, 300 DPI illustrations with a 1/8th inch bleed (FINAL DIMENSIONS SHOULD BE 6.25” x 9.25”) You may work in CMYK or RGB format, but understand that saturated colours may fade in print. «template here»
For consistency’s sake, object heads are defined by literal objects, geometry, and abstract things (no headless people though). No animal heads unless it’s taxidermy. Body part heads are fine. Keep faces to a minimum (You can have eye(s) or you can have mouth(s) but don’t have both in a humanoid arrangement.)
As a note, this will be an all original character collection - no fanart!
How to apply:
I plan to print physical copies for the participants using my own money, so slots are limited! I’ve already picked 10 out of 30 participants (shown here), leaving 20 slots open for applicants.

To apply, please submit:
Examples of your work (art blog/tag, homepage, whatever)
A list of the object heads you’d like to draw
The name you want me to credit you under
The website you want linked on your credits page
(Optional) The email you want displayed on your credit page

OH HEY so one of my old buddies from uni has made this kickass bullet-hell game which you can help out by voting for it on Steam, so if any of you are Steam addicts perhaps you could have a looksy and help a bro out? He’s a swell guy and the game looks great!

I have Keratoconus which is a genetic condition that causes the cornea to turn cone shaped. It makes it hard to see, because bright lights form halo effects, obscuring the vision, and making it difficult to read, and in my case, draw. The day before my birthday, I went to a specialist, who gave me three options; Cross linking eye surgery, (which is still considered experimental in the United States, and not covered by insurance) Intact lenses (also not covered by insurance) or complete cornea transplants (Which is covered by insurance, but much riskier than the other two listed).
Although there is some hope, since the Intacts is currently going through trial runs and studies for it to be approved by most insurances, I will learn by october, if I will be an acceptible participant for the study, and receive the intacts at either a reduced price, or not pay at all.
But, worse case scenerio, I will have to pay $5000-9000 per eye.
I cannot afford that, on my walmart salary. My family is barely skating by with what we have, and we still struggle every month to make ends meet. There is absolutely no way we would be able to pay for this surgery.
And, that really scares me.
As an artist, and a writer, I depend so much on my eyes. Keratoconus is not curable, and will only worsten, if they go untreated. I NEED this surgery, but I can’t pay for it, with the few hundred bucks I get from putting up with walmart customers.
So, I turn to you, Tumblr. This is very hard for me to do, since I was raised to believe that if someone can work for their money, they very well should, and reserve the free help to the people who truly cannot help themselves. Imagine all your favorite websites taking forever to load, while you get annoying notifications from your ISP suggesting you switch to one of their approved “Fast Lane” sites.
