Okay, staff, I am super freaking pissed about the update and here’s why.
I cannot read your new format.
I’m not trying to be whiny or nitpicky or over-dramatic. I can appreciate that you were attempting to make things look more organised/less confusing/whatever. I also expect the new format is a great improvement for people who have screen readers. That’s great. That’s fine.
I just cannot freaking read this. I have dyslexia, and my dyslexia is set off by pictures, bold, italics, anything that is more “interesting” to my brain than plain, unadorned text.
Like this monstrosity:
Look at it. Just look at it. The pictures get in between the lines of text, there’s distracting colors and pictures everywhere. The names are bolded when they’re really not the most important thing. Looking at this, I see everything except what I’m supposed to see, that cheesy series of puns. (No pun intended.)
You literally couldn’t have made a worse format for me if you’d tried.
The thing is, your format was what made me really like Tumblr in the first place. It was super clear who was writing something new, because look, there was a freaking line pointing right to it. Unless someone started writing in all caps or bold or whatever, all the text in a post had the same amount of emphasis. Finally, SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET I COULD READ.
And now, now I can’t read any of it at all.
So yeah, I’m pissed.
Like, I know that you’re not going to change it back, because you never seem to listen when anyone on your site complains about anything. I’m not sure why I bothered writing this to you guys, given your track record.
But now’s your chance to prove me wrong. Seriously, the least you could do is give us an option here. You’ve still got the old code. Just stick a button somewhere to revert to the old format so I can enjoy my text posts in peace.

SIGNAL BOOST because I really hope Tumblr pays attention to this. I’m sure Miraniel’s not the only Tumblr blogger/reader in this position.
Im quite broke (no surprise there, who isnt lol) since Tetris (one of my cats with chronical kidney disease) have had to go to some extra vet visits and is now on medicine for everyday for the rest of his life (for his high bloodpressure) it has cost me a bit extra yay.
Also Im moving by the end of the month for 2 reasons, first because I need to get the hell away from the bedbugs that been pestering my life for like, I dont know anymore, last 6 months or more? That means throwing away a lot of furnitures to be sure I dont bring any bugs with me to the new flat, so it will be pretty empty in the new flat, but I dont care, its mostly just a bed I want to be able to buy soon x) The rest I´ll save up to eventually.
And second, I need my own place badly, living in my ex´s flat since we broke up just is not the greatest thing to do while you´re trying to move on with your life apperantly D: (he doesnt live here though ofc but its in his name which makes alot of things difficult for me as I try not to have contact with him anymore)
So yeh, I hope I can save up some money for this stuff and I would be very thankful if you could reblog this at least <3

CAMHS IS STRUGGLING BADLY RIGHT NOW. How do I know? I’m only just getting into their care/treatment.
When I went and asked for an appointment it took about 2-3 weeks for them to contact me. After that it took about 3 months to have the appointment itself. It’s because every single appointment, every time slot, is filled in. They even say that if you don’t think you can make it to CANCEL asap because they need to give these appointments out to as many as they can. Now they have to have appointments for those they can help every few weeks rather than what some young people need, which is every few days.
THEY NEED MORE MONEY, NOT CUTS. They have been cut so much in the past few years I fear another cut in money for them will lead to CAMHS being useless for young people and possibly shut down.

I interrupt a long-term hiatus to help raise awareness towards the new Copyright Laws that might come into effect starting next week unless we join efforts to stop it.
A friend and fellow artist, Will Terry, has joined forces with Brad Holland to help us understand what this Copyright Law is all about, here is their message:
“Orphan Works in a Nutshell:
- Congress is drafting a new US Copyright Act. If passed, it would replace current US Copyright law. There isn’t any bill yet, but the Copyright Office has issued its recommendations for one. Their Report is 234 pages long and is very complicated, so it’s risky to try reducing it to a few words. But here’s a summary of its basic features:
It would void your Constitutional right to the EXCLUSIVE CONTROL of YOUR work.
It would effectively reverse the default premise of copyright law; which means…
It would make the public’s right to use your work its defining goal; which means…
You would have to make your work available to the public.
You would have to do this by registering every picture you want to retain the rights to with for-profit registries.
Unregistered work would be considered legally “orphaned.”
Orphaned work would be available for commercial infringement by “good faith” infringers.
Good faith infringers would be anyone who believed they had made a “reasonably diligent,” but unsuccessful effort to find you.
Infringers could also ALTER your work and copyright the “derivative works” in their own names.
This would affect all visual art: drawings, paintings, sketches, photos, etc.; past, present and future; published and unpublished; domestic and foreign.
It would include family snapshots and any picture or work you ever put on the Internet.
The Copyright Office acknowledges that this would pose special “challenges” for visual artists…
But they conclude that it’s in the public interest for your work to be available for anyone to use.
The Copyright Office has also recommended the following:
Mass Digitization of the world’s intellectual property by corporate interests.
Extended Collective Licensing, a form of socialized corporate licensing that would replace voluntary agreements between artists and clients.
A Copyright Small Claims Court to handle the expected flood of orphan works lawsuits.

Since there’s news of some hackers getting into Adobe Flash’s program, I thought a lot of you might want to know how to disable it until the problem is sorted out.
On Chrome:
Type chrome:plugins into the address bar
Find the Adobe Flash Player
Click Disable
On Firefox:
Go to Tools > Add-ons
Click on the Plugins tab
Find Shockwave Flash
Click Never Activate or Ask to Activate
I don’t have pics for firefox, but if you run into trouble I can try to help you through it.
It is absolutely unnecessary to
disable Adobe flash, that wont help you at all. This post makes everything sound worse than it is (there are no hackers btw.
Its just a vulnerability in the system ). Chill for a sec and read this

Most of us have the newest version
18.0.0.203. This one is not listed and safe. Before you uninstall anything make sure which version you have. If your version is one of the affected ones, go and update your flash to
18.0.0.203.

It’s a first-person game, set in a procedurally generated, fully 3D city that you must escape before society collapses around you. But, like any good roguelike, you’re probably going to die a few times before you figure out how it all works.
You will need to learn how to conform and avoid suspicion. You will need to hunt for supplies, and craft the devices and weapons that enable you to make it out of town alive. Wait, isn’t this just another Bioshock? Like practically another clone of Bioshock?
No. This is a rougelike, survival, “stealth in plain sight” game and you don’t get magic powers from taking the drugs, you can overdose and lose your memory– which results in the game generating a completely new map for you. It’s more along the lines of Don’t Starve if anything. Except if Don’t Starve took place in a city where you were trying very hard to blend in with the locals or they’d kill you.
