I feel like this is the one guy I could have an in depth enthuse-off with about animation without freaking him out

this was hard to make
but yeah TL:DR seeing things does not a crazy person make
I was planning on doing something different with this lineart but then I got bored and played about with it and this is probably more fun than what I would have done originally so here
I am considering writing a thing, and maybe eventually colouring and printing the thing, but I’m not sure if the thing is any good, so I thought I would ask you to tell me if it is or not.
Let me tell you the beginning of the story.
Once upon a time there was a farm. On this farm there were animals, as is generally the case, and all of these animals had a purpose. Sometimes they had even more than one.
The cow had a purpose.
The chickens had a purpose.
The rooster had a purpose, although some of the animals wished it wasn’t such a loud one.
The owl had a purpose, and the mice that lived inside were very glad that they lived inside because of it.
The dog had a purpose, and occasionally fleas.
The sheep had a purpose (and a very bad temper, but we won’t comment on that).
The guinea pigs were assumed to have a purpose, although it was hard to tell what, beyond doing their very best to look like a pair of slippers.
The goat had a purpose, which involved a great deal of thinking himself important and climbing on things, and the pig had a purpose, although she didn’t like to talk about it.
And the great shire horse had a purpose, and when the fair came to town the humans would make him look quite strange for a different purpose, which he wouldn’t have minded if the ducks didn’t laugh so.
There was one creature, however, who simply did not seem to have any purpose whatsoever.

actually that’s a lie I just regret not being able to capture the same ‘marginally-traumatized-child’ expression in the clean up drawing as I did in the top right sketches :/
Another character from the puppet story- he’s a rocking horse that’s been in the toystore for as long as anyone can remember. The toys think he was never bought because he looks too scary, but actually it was because the owner loved him too much to sell him.
(also yeah I’m not even going to pretend that this isn’t massively inspired by Roscoe from ACNL because he’s my bro okay)
Sorry for the near total absence of actual drawings lately but the combination of ACNL, work and uncommonly hot weather was something of a killer combination.
Aaaaanyway, I’ve been considering doing a short story book for a long time now (I never know if I hate the term children’s book or just the inverted commas that inevitably go with it) and there’s this one idea about a puppet that was never finished that has kept coming back up in my mind.
So yes, there, maybe this will become a thing some day.
A few people have asked what kind of animal I would be in ACNL but really chaps this is kind of a no-brainer by now, surely?
HYENAS. ALWAYS HYENAS.
Also I would totally be a dorky Museum assistant and spend all day helping Blathers to document all the exhibits by drawing them because skeletons are awesome

I visited Mango’s town and I gave her a pretty dress and she gave me a psychotic mask and a jumper and a diving suit and a freaking pipe organ and far too many other things jeepers
she’s also hella rich and is naturally the queen of all fruit
