Another aggressively over-rendered illustration from yours-truly.

Harold Lloyd doing something scary, influenced (maybe?) by that one short where he gets drunk and falls in love with a somnambulist. I could look the title up but its like, 2am. I did however remember the word somnambulist so I should get points for that. A word so nice I used it twice. Go me.

Manga Studio again.

An illustrated tribute

Amelia is a genius. That’s all I have left to say tonight. Good night.

So there’s a plot of land right on Robson’s street that has been bought and is being cleared out for a new building, but as they were taking apart the old building something very special was found; an old hand-painted advert for Harold Lloyd’s very first full feature, Grandma’s Boy.

Obviously I sort of flipped out when I saw it. Unfortunately the sun was on the wrong side so these aren’t very good but it really is a beauty, and the colours are just as they were because it’s been covered up for so long! I might try again in the morning tomorrow if the weather is good again :)

Sort of uncanny timing too, what with The Artist, Morris Lessmore and HUGO causing a trend of interest in silent movies…
