Part two! As ever, opening the pages in a new tab makes them easier to read, or you can read this whole comic full sized here!

For those worrying about whether I was resting my hands- don’t worry I was doing like 4 lots of ten minutes work on this a day for a looong number of weeks, and it’s been encouraging to do this as a way of seeing how my recovery is going. Also the… near complete lack of backgrounds and bg characters helped, so.

Part one can be read here! All my doodle comics can be read here on tumblr, or here (full size) on my home website!

twitter vote! I’m debating over whether or not to add those little Alternate Ducktales comics to the doodle comic section of my website or not; folks seem to like them and some have asked me to add them, I just worry that it would require too many layers of prior knowledge to understand them (but I guess I can just make a little explanation page to precede them…) if you’ve got an opinion on that please go give me your feedback on the twitter poll!

yo here’s a quick scanlation i did, a fairly interesting take on a valentine’s day story i’d say

written and drawn by kari korhonen

full story here: X

I LOVE THIS. I can’t believe they lampshaded IT like that.

Cupid Dude knows what’s up. I love stories by Korhonen.

I also adore Gladstone in this one, and I was so happy with the characterization and outcome. And my favorite thing in this whole story is these golden expressions

I’ve done my first scanlation. This is a parody of the novel Foucault’s Pendulum by Umberto Eco. It’s a difficult book, but it is rewarding enough that it is one of my favourite books of all time. So when I heard of this comic, I became very interested in reading it. And it turned out to pretty good, despite some flaws. To my surprise, it is reasonably faithful to the book.

Read it on Imgur

Also, click on the images to enlarge them, the scans are pretty big.

The plot is that Donald, Fethry and Gladstone create a made-up conspiracy theory and publish it in Scrooge’s newspaper, only to discover that there is more  truth to the theory than they think.

I don’t know how many will be interested in this translation. What is the overlap between fans of postmodern literature and Duck comics fans? Sometimes I feel the writer Bruno Sarda wrote this for exactly 2 people: Himself and me.

The scans are from a German 2014 re-print and come from @land-of-birds-and-comics . She pointed a masterpost of german duck scans and I used her links.

I’ve translated this from German into English, so from my third language to my second. You can understand if it is a little shaky at times, especially since I’m entirely new at this scanlation business.

I put in a few references to Monty Python, The Prisoner and Laurel and Hardy that were not in the original text.

There is also a parody of The Name of the Rose, also written by Sarda, which I will try to translate soon.

@worldwide-duckverse might be interested in this.

here’s an old patreon reward to fill in the drawing-hiatus void a bit; something I get asked about a lot is the ‘acting’ in my comics and how to be subtle with conveying emotions. The answer is mostly experience and constantly observing people in real life to learn about expressions, but knowing when to ‘dial up’ or ‘dial down’ emotion is very important! context is king- this is basically the same advice that Carl Barks gave on one of his reference sheets here (in a much more succinct manner!):

Anonymous asked: I was not even aware of the duck comics before you brought it onto my dash and while I love the stories the thing that got me into reading was the heart warming comments from people? like, there's just so much positivity and encouragement in the duck tags and I love that I love you

aw buddy I am so glad! I love you too!

((I used this version of the song for this, the idea’s to play it (?) ))

For a while i was thinking of an idea to draw something with this song (it’s so pretty and heartbreaking ;;; ) and this came to my head! I placed it at some point during “Last Sled to Dawson”, when they were staying at Goldie’s hotel and well …

I’m pretty sure that Scrooge’d have loved to hear Goldie sing again -u-
