Anonymous asked: Say I'm new to absolutely all duck comics. Where do you recommend I start (save for your comic because I'm starting that tonight)?
YES GOOD well as ever there’s a big ole chunk of classics in this here link post but honestly the one that everyone is going to tell you to read because you should and you’ll love it is The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck which is as epic as it sounds and then some :Tb go have yourself a Good Time and get addicted to over 80 years of comics from multiple countries and extremely talented artists and writers

I adore the fact that Donald knows his babies so well he can tell them apart with a single glance.
And the triplets happy little faces when Donald correctly identifies them are so cute!
Hey @modmad, have you seen this? It seems like something that’s right up your alley. 😊
yesss I love this, and the story is An Eye for Detail for those wondering- it’s by Don Rosa!
a quick Scrooge-the-archivist sketch for Morgann Gicquel as a thank you for making the very excellent and gut-punching documentary The Scrooge Mystery. I love that Don Rosa now has his own ‘comic bin’ and we all know Scrooge has a penchant for cataloguing keepsakes from his lengthy life’s journey so I wanted to sketch something that gave us a look at that (wish I’d had more time to make the random stuff into specific objects referencing the stories but hey we gotta move on and keep drawing those new stories y’know?)
just for fun: a second go at redesigning the Triple Distelfink! I wanted to try and make it more like traditional distelfink hex signs while pushing the more magic-y vibes I’ve been playing with in some of the doodle comics! Gave it the mesh design at the bottom bc I figured this might be the original Triple Distelfink which gets adapted/simplified over time, and the icon in the heart might change depending on who/what the hex was intended for.
Anonymous asked: do you like the duck comics that are set in Egypt? one of my favs is The Crocodile Collector by Don Rosa but considering you live there I wanted to know how you feel about them :'D

I love any Ancient Egypt-motif cover art. My favorite is one from my childhood - Donald, Daisy and the boys dressed in ancient clothes, sliding down the side of a pyramid on a sled thing.
I don’t remember that one by Don Rosa, but I know I’ve read something set in Egypt drawn by Vicar a long time ago. They’re fun, but I’d like to see them having an adventure in modern-day Cairo. That would be something, given how old and crazy this city is.
/drops down from the ceiling like a friendly spider with a link to the Don Rosa story for you
holy shamoly there are so many things to play with here AAA (also Gladstone doesn’t have friends like OOF anon ouch right in the kokoro)- imma waffle about possibilities for a bit so feel free to read or ignore
Keep reading
honestly I know I use it as a Plot Thing all the time but I still love that Gladstone’s luck originally comes from a hex- and I needed a big version of the image so I tried to redraw it to look a bit more like a hexy spoopy thing :D
