Anonymous asked: I read your ambidextrous drawing post and I wanna mention a good tip to y'all from a left-handed artist: If you can afford it, buy yourself a mouse with a numberpad on it and assign all of your tools to the buttons (along with undo/redo). You can swap tools without ever having to move your pen to do so and it makes everything so much faster! This also applies to right-handed artists who use their mice left-handed, but idk if people make numpad mouses for left-handed people

cool! also yeah technical stuff can get you bogged down but honestly? as long as ur working at 300 dpi you use what shape/size feels right- comics don’t have to be any particular shape! I use the A4 format bc I always loved the size and ratio of the Tintin comics, and I figured that was as close to that as I could get

I will do my best! also it seems like I’ve got a few new followers who are wondering what ‘type’ of duck lore I stick to, and the truth is its a big mixture but it’s all taken from the comics, which are great and have always been a big inspiration to me and lots of other artists! if you haven’t already, try giving them a read if you have the time :D

Nah, I just wanted to use the clock hands as the tails for the speech bubbles- in fact I only use the hour and minute hands, and the only reason I vary which I’m using (or if I use both connected) is where I need a longer or shorter ‘tail’- there is no symbolism in which I use! I’m not sure they work very well as speech bubble tails, to be honest… but I started it so I have to stick with it now!

argh, see these are the tough asks to answer- because I feel like I do have to, because I know that feeling, and yet! I know that feeling! so it’s hard to answer, because I still feel like that sometimes. I suppose the thing I use to fight my way out of that feeling is that, regardless of ‘how good’ the thing I end up making is, it exists afterwards, which it didn’t before! comparing yourself and your best to other peoples’ best is difficult to avoid, but you should, because nobody’s best is better than anyone else’s- sure, it might be technically more accomplished, or it might have more energy, or it might have a better colour scheme, but you know what? that person would very likely look at your ‘best’, and see things that are better than theirs! make things, and then you have things. don’t make things, and you’ll never know the satisfaction of having created it, or know how good it could have been- there’s nothing to lose by trying, and no gain at all by not trying. Sometimes? There are fights you can’t win, ideas that are too complicated, and it’s healthier to leave it, try something else, and maybe come back later if you get your wind back. I have ideas that I have on the shelf because I’m not ‘ready’ for them yet. Not ‘not good enough’, just not ready yet. Try applying this line of thought, and try trying! Just go with your gut instinct and do what makes you happy.

ooh fun- I think the Triplets all have very subtly different shades of blue: Dewey’s are the darkest, Huey’s are the lightest, and Louie’s are mid tone and maybe ever so slightly green.
Likewise I think there’s been comics where Gladstone is shown to have blue eyes, but because of his interestingly multifaceted self (and as someone who has literally had three people and an entire classroom argue over what colour my eyes are in front of my face) I think his eyes would look slightly more green or even completely green in certain lighting or situations. I mean, it’d be kinda cool if they turned green whenever he made a wish or got mad? Right?
