Anonymous asked: what does the E & R stand for on the mailbag? I think I've seen it on other British postal type things

ah, it’s a Royal thing; the Royal Mail uses ER at the moment, as it stands for Elizabeth Regina (Regina = Queen), but it changes with the monarch, so when it was queen Victoria it was VR, and when it was king Edward it was ER as well, but that stood for Edwardus Rex (King). If you snoop around the UK you can find old postboxes with different initials on them, which gives you a clue as to when that particular postbox was made!

Anonymous asked: so it is very apparent that you are slowly becoming famous what will you do with this new source of power

god I hope not I would actually hate that (you can ask my mother I’ve had nightmares about it since I was about six, I’m not joking), but I guess photobombing people could be fun

or wearing prosthetic makeup to ever so slightly change my face so I can claim I just ‘look a bit like her’

or doing that Daniel Radcliffe trick of always wearing the same outfit so the press can’t say they’re the ‘most recent’ photographs of me with any concrete evidence

Anonymous asked: do Arthur and Mesi have surnames?

Do you know I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned them before now, which is a bit surprising, but yes! Arthur’s full name is Arthur Eric Steed, whereas Mesi’s full name is Mesi Jalloh.

Arthur has always found his name very pretentious, which is why the name he became known by was simply his first; he almost never had the surname put on the credits of his films, which was eccentric enough to draw attention and publicize the idea. ‘Ms Mesi Jalloh’ is how Mesi preferred to be titled in reviews/public addressal (and it’s pretty catchy so the press liked it too), which earned her the nickname ‘Ms Mesi’.

Anonymous asked: DID THOSE MOUNTAINS IN THE BACKGROUND JUST MOVE

maybe

Anonymous asked: I intend to buy a t-shirt for the sole purpose of being able to hug RGB every time I cross my arms

that is the most adorable reason and I love you for it

Anonymous asked: This may be a weird question but, how do you do your hair? Like, do you just brush it? It's really pretty and I was thinking about cutting my hair similarly but my mom says short hair is a lot of work. Anyway, I hope this question isn't too weird...

actually I don’t brush it at all! I just wash it and let it dry however it wants to these days- I used to straighten it into a Beatle-type arrangement but it’s so unruly and prone to frizzing in the rain I just gave up, we’ve sort of come to an agreement that I leave it alone and it does something slightly different every time to keep me amused

Anonymous asked: open everything with your wrist, chin, elbow, or knees

I actually forgot about the last text post and thought some random anon was just challenging me to do this for the rest of the day

I didn’t even object I just was like YEAH OKAY WHY THE FUCK NOT LET’S DO THIS

Anonymous asked: Do you think you might consider doing more than one page a week sometime in the future. No pressure of course, i understand you're really busy! i was just wondering.

Of course! I would love to do more now but I really would have to be doing the comic/my own work for a living, I just can’t do more than one page a week with having a full time storyboarding job on top of it; you guys see about 15% of what I draw, if that!

I work from nine to six, the vast majority of which is drawing either in pencil or on the cintiq and let me tell you that is a lot of hand work, and I have to be very careful not to burn myself out or injure my wrist/hand/brain from drawing more than is healthy. The migraine I got yesterday was actually probably a result of trying to do too much in a day! I don’t manage to take my own advice sometimes and the results are pretty crappy for everyone.

It sucks, I know, but for now this is literally my maximum output for all the projects I have running. Doing the work any faster would jeopardize my job and my health, so thank you for your patience I really appreciate it, but it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to do more than one a week any time soon.

Anonymous asked: so when we're writing about Assok should we use xe xem and xyr?

sure! I’ll try and get into the habit myself, but I also like the method used with BMO from Adventure Time of just alternating between using he and she, so whatever you’re most comfortable with is fine!

sorry I had to make a photoset because for some reason I can’t upload more than one image to a text post any more? hm
