More uncle Gladstone, as I promised. Not even barely satisfied with how it turned out, but uh… works as practice at least. The other 23 panles are under the cut!
A cult in the middle of nowhere. A ritual, struck at the witching hour. The sacrifice is dealt with, the moon is red, the trees are bleeding ink. everything is ready to unlease their god.
and then a Goose shows up.
“Goosechase” is a an non-Euclidean, Eldritch Being, accidently created by an ancient cult attempting to summoning their obscure God. A shapeshifter breaking the bounds of reality, they stalks the woods, searching for prey, an entity of unparallel power.
but still, a goose
it eventually led into folk legend, leading to someone attempting to produce a Slasher film based on it. A poster of it circulated around the 90’s, rumored to only show in exclusive showings, late at night. The cost of admission varied, the most outlandish being ████
oh hey so just a head’s up that apparently Tapastic has made a weird decision about Right of First Refusal on their ToS and while it’s all kind of, confusing as to what it all means I may be taking TPoH down from the site if it seems like a Bad Time? because I am really trying hard to get volume 2 to be a thing and frankly I don’t got time for confusing legal nonsense, that said I really don’t know what even is the deal with this yet so I don’t want to jump start any panic- if anyone has a better notion of ‘what the fuck’ please let me know!
(also just to clarify this isn’t me leading an example or wanting in any way to start drama over all this, but there are certain things currently in the works for my comic right now and I cannot afford to jeopardise opportunities that I’ve worked towards for literal years, so, it’s been fun and it was a nice site to post on as a rule but I’m calling it quits while the going is good)
So I have folks asking about my process/what I count as a doodle comic a fair bit, and the answer is it kind of changes? mostly I guess doodle comics are a) fan comics of some sort and b) not ‘finished’ finished they usually have scribbly bgs or structure lines left in them. Mostly my drawing process is like above- a loose silhouette or line sketch, then some blocking in and refinement, complicated objects/establishing shots, and then line art last if I can be bothered ahaha um.
Generally I do thumbnails for all the pages and then work the dialogue over it, which I usually have a vague idea for but I always change it and try to streamline it as I go; I’m more visually driven, so I almost always start with image and then move on to the words. Sometimes (like the bottom image here) there are panels that I want to get down on the paper/screen before they melt out of my brain, so I just start and let the energy bubble out while it’s there.
Heyo! SO the home TPoH website is up again, but only because my beautiful, lovely and generous website host pal has given me every last shred of spare bandwidth he has; hopefully this will last until the end of the month, but please maybe go easy on visiting the site as if it goes down again that’ll be it for a while!
Since that’s such a crap thing to say I am going to work as hard as I can to get all of TPoH up onto Tapastic here, and if you think it’d be worthwhile I may put my other comics (the square tales and TPatJ) up there as well. If you’re from imgur or are otherwise desperate to throw a link to the comic at your friends, please use this one!
Also to the douchebag who uploaded all of TPoH to imgur without a credit, um, fuck you?
