Okay, so, 45 minutes after waking up I have FINALLY caught up with scrolling on tumblr, and yes, okay, I do know about the contest and I think it’s a marvelous gig, but… as much as I love this idea and encourage each and every one of you to go for it, I’m not going to for the same reason that I stopped running the M.O.D. vlog. Yes, I like to entertain people, but I’m just not a natural performer and I get stage fright even in front of a camera in an empty room. Add onto that the fact that I really don’t think I can sing, and while I can play piano and drums the only instrument in the apartment I could use is Kate’s acoustic, which I’ve only been playing for a little over a month. I doubt I could play a whole song yet, let alone sing one at the same time.
Besides, M.O.D. is mute now :T so yeah ULTIMATE EXCUSE EVER.
So, thank you, very glad you like the character I made, but this isn’t my field. I’m going to continue with what I can do, and contribute to SPG in the way that I feel comfortable with.

Well, hypothetically, if this were the case, I would recommend not trying.
By this I do not mean ‘omg no go away how dare you try to be my friend grrrrr blargh urgh’, I mean that trying is too much. I’m happy to be friends with anyone who wants to know me, and as far as I’m concerned, if I know you, you’re my friend by default. Don’t try to impress me, don’t hound every step I take, don’t bay unto the moon and conduct secret rituals and wail into the South Western wind in the dead of night- just be you. Say hello. Give me a hug.
Of course, this is all entirely hypothetical.
It would be madness not to. When I’m not holding a pencil I feel like part of my hand is missing.

My opinion on opinions is that they are opinions, which does not mean they are not important, but it doesn’t mean that they are right. Then again, what is right very often depends on your opinion, but then that’s a matter of opinion.
Anyway, that’s just my opinion.

Well, first of all, I’m not; I just have fun doing it, and second of all it’s going to be the same answer no matter who you ask- I drew them a lot. I draw them a lot. I will continue to draw them a lot and I will never be as good at drawing them as I want to be, but I will be as good at drawing them as I can be, and that’s really all anyone can ask of you, so that’s fine :D
As for tips, apart from drawing them a lot and drawing as many from life as you can, try looking at the shapes of and in people’s faces. You can learn a lot from looking at skulls and the muscles of the face, but try picking out the repeating motifs in people’s faces- are there circles? Steps? Angles? Curves? What can you make that say about the face, about the person? Can you use that in a way that misleads the audience? Is your villain made of triangles and spikes, or are they a cutesy baby-faced joker?
Just have fun with it and draw as much as you can, whenever you can, of whatever you can- or, even better, what you can’t.
1) Storyboard artists draw up a rough version of the film/animation shot by shot to visualize the script. A storyboard is like a comic- you break up the scenes and then draw what you want them to look like. This way you can figure out which angles are best, how to direct the lighting, communicate the atmosphere of the film, what expressions and body language the acting should use- it’s a vital stage of film production. We also have the liberty to add in background action and generally have to work hard to make dull scenes more interesting. You have to use your imagination a lot; it can be quite challenging at times, but it’s very creative and I love it :)

Sadly I’m not allowed to say- confidential stuff, animation- but I can say that I’m employed as a storyboard artist and it is weird. Very cool, but definitely weird.
