ALL OF THEM actually nah lemme answer this properly because lots of people have asked me the same question on both sides; whether you’ve played all the AA games and none of the PL games or visa versa, I would recommend playing at least the first game in the series of the set that you haven’t. Honestly if you like PL you’re going to love AA, and likewise AA junkies will find no trouble getting addicted to puzzle solving professors and their beautifully animated cutscenes- there’s a reason a crossover happened, and I have to say the two game styles compliment each other enormously in the new adventure.
It isn’t necessary to play any of the (insert unplayed game series here) beforehand by any stretch, so by all means plunge right into the crossover if you want to, but I just feel the experience will be improved so much by developing a love and understanding of the characters before you start playing. The jokes (and injokes) will be much funnier, and the drama will have you jumping up and down on the bed rather than going ‘oh well I guess that is sort of shocking but I don’t feel as emotionally invested in it as I could have done if I knew this character better’.
At the end of the day it’s your choice, but if you want to get the most out of it I would exercise restraint for a little while longer and get to know the new world and cast that you’re going to be walking about and interacting with!
