Growing up, it took me a long time to realize David Bowie wasn’t just my little secret.  He was a constant, comfortable musical presence, but I didn’t see his picture until the first time I saw Labyrinth.  I remember laying in my bed that night, wide awake, heart racing, knowing nothing would be the same.  That might have been the first time I’d ever seen anyone who was so electrifying in every way.  It took me decades to get the courage and confidence to draw him, because if I screwed it up, I don’t know what I’d’ve done.

Is there anybody on the planet like Bowie?  Anyone who can do what he does?
