Okay so this is actually going to be kind of a test to see if I can use this speech to text thing because this one anonymous person has sent me a really long message asking a lot of questions so here we go-
Okay so all of these questions seem to refer to my last doodle comic The white balloon, Which is based off a sort of collection of all of the canon that I have come to understand by reading a lot of. comics which I stuck together to make my own sort of stories so it isn’t official Canon obviously but yeah it’s stuck together With what I know. I base a lot of my stories off Don Rosa’s comics and particularly this one draws off the sign of the triple distilfink Which explains Gladstone’s luck to come from his mother, So yes in my accented head canon version of Duck Lore He was born with his luck. You’ll understand that better if you read that story which I have linked to here.
Re: the disappearing you’ll understand if you read that Don Rosa story, And yes I think Daphne and Gladstone had the same luck at the same time and goodness knows what that would’ve been like To live with! I don’t believe either one to have had stronger luck than the other, Because it is effectively the same hex that they both Are affected by (Arguably Daphne’s would be stronger because she was the original receiver of the hex But I don’t know man). If there could only be one winner I suspect like in a game Daphne would lose because she wanted Gladstone to be happy, But really it would all depend on what was the best outcome for everybody. I work off the basis that the luck acts in the best interest of Gladstone and his family, Which explains why sometimes he loses Because it actually works out to be better for them overall!
In terms of why that luck did not save Daphne and Goostave I tried to get this across by having three pieces of obvious bad luck happened to the cupcake (Boy that sure is a sentence); Passing under a ladder, Containing a piece of broken mirror, And a black cat crosses the path of the van. Writing just works best when things happen in threes but also because it is a triple distelfink hex I felt like three pieces of bad luck would logically negate that Hex. The thing that actually pushes it over the point of simply neutralising that hex is actually Daphne’s wish (And Gladstone’s if you want to be really mean).
This is just really cute and I don’t have anything to say except thank you very much gosh? :’D
Glad you picked up on that And yes he totally got some acting skills from grandma, But there’s going to be another story in the future which will further explain his relationship with Prof Ludwig And oh my God I can’t believe speech to text actually got Prof Ludwig right?! Like seriously I didn’t have to edit that bit It just worked That’s awesome :D ! Anyway I was saying that because a lot of Gladstone’s mannerisms especially how he dresses is actually Influenced by Ludwig (in my headcanon) and is my way of explaining why they dress so similarly and have the same colour scheme and a lot of the comics.
Hey this is actually really successful I didn’t have to do a huge amount of editing but thank you for this massive question which allowed to test that out, I hope this helps explain certain things and thank you for reading!
