So realistically, how we get you making real comics for the actual duck people? You pretty much singlehandedly run the duck side of Tumblr, that has to be some kind of leverage?

haha! not sure that’s true but it’s flattering to be so associated with it! However, at the moment I’m perfectly happy to just make these stories for free- I have total control over the stories, don’t have to work to pressured deadlines at a speed that would risk the health of my hands, and can experiment as much as I want with different art styles. Sure, it’d be wonderful to contribute to the canon of the duckverse, but at present I really don’t think working for the comics is possible or even plausible- and I’m genuinely not sure it would be good for me. I’m very aware of how they’ve treated their artists and writers in the past, including people as deeply respected as Carl Barks and Don Rosa, so I have no great desire to go down that route just now. Miraculously I am just about making enough money from my original stories, so as long as I can (afford to) bring the joy of the duck comics and their fantastic characters to people and hopefully introduce new readers to the official works then I’m perfectly happy to continue as I am.

The only request I might have is that- if you like the comics I make, please reblog them! it really helps with getting them seen by new audiences, and if you haven’t read the original comics or have a friend who you think would like them, please check those out! If you can’t find any in your library or local store there’s a list of links where you can find them online here complete with a whole section of staple classics to break you in. Thanks in advance, I love you! <3
