Anonymous asked: Uncle Mod I need help with a Baby's First DnD character, do you know any goodinteresting no-magic classes? (Homebrew is fine, my party just needs a non-magic user and I'm the only one without a character yet. Rip me)
best to leave this one to the masses- my DnD days were a while ago and there’s a lot of new cool stuff out there! any suggestions folks? (please reply to this post if you do rather than send asks- my inbox is being weird atm)

They get bonus HP while raging though so it’s not a huge penalty for them. I don’t know what edition you’re running but if you’re the only non-magic user in the party you’re gonna wanna focus on builds that encourage/enable blocking your enemies’ path to the squishies in the back.

I’ve played ranger before and liked it a lot, but monk also sounds like a lot of fun.

babblingfishes said: (Monk is also fun but might be a bit more difficult to jump into as a new player. I had to get out a piece of paper, count how many dice i was using, and do math every damn time i attacked. But it was unique and pretty versatile!)
babblingfishes said: I think Fighter is definitely the best choice here. I started with Rogue which is also good, but Rogues don’t take damage well, which may not work out well if the rest of your team is magic-based.
yunisverse said: For a beginner, I think a Fighter or a Rogue is a best bet. They start out fairly straight forward, and as you get the hang of it they can do AWESOME stuff with their skillsets.
