Anonymous asked: Uncle Mod, I've been dealing with on off super bad wrist pain in my dominant hand for years now. After finally getting a doctor to take it as seriously as it needed to be, all the tests have come back sort of... inconclusive. It's frustrating enough having to quit my job, quit university, and move back with my parents because of it, but I'm really upset I'll never make art or comics again. It's my greatest passion! Do you have any words for me...?

eesh, sorry my buddy that sounds horrible- and sometimes it takes years for doctors to find the exact cause, sometimes they never can! I happened to have a pair of parents with medical pasts and I got sent to the right specialist early on. I can’t offer much comfort- being back in the RSI pain parade yet again myself- but try to be patient with yourself, find creative outlets that don’t require hands (listen to music, sing, watch movies, talk!) if you really over exert you will run the risk of not drawing in the future. I can’t promise you will be able to! I don’t know what my future is either- we just have to do the best we can and look after ourselves

It will start hurting a lot at first but if you do the water therapy thing after you use the exercises each day for a few weeks, it will help soothe it till eventually you can use your hand to work again. It’s up to the doctors if you need medicine or not but i’ve heard of people who recover without spending all that cash
