re: how to explain Gladstone's change of look- he wins a makeover! not sure about the whole eye size situation, but maybe part of it is he gets a face peel and is like 'o SHIT my eyebrow gap/scar that no-one is meant to see throw me that eyebrow pencil girl' and the salon is like 'no no! it's cute!' and he's like 'huh, okay'. so it's like... the start of both showing who Gladstone really is on the show, AND showing *him* starting to love who He is
