Thank you! I like Hobby too! He was only meant to be a fleeting background character but he ended up wanting some decent lines and then he had a personality and gosh these people really do get out of hand don’t they- and yes, he wears the reins like a scarf and hangs them on his handles so they don’t get caught on stuff or get in the way of his work. Sometimes mischievous marketers tie them to things when he’s not looking but he doesn’t mind really.
Hobby’s been in the market for a long time and has kind of given up on ever leaving, but while he’s quite dour he’s very mellow, friendly and a welcome familiar face to a lot of long-time inhabitants. He’s tried a lot of different trades, but of late he’s taken up fearmongering because he’s one of the only denizens who’s substantial enough to handle their remains (generally people only want/need a pinch at a time, so he uses the mortar and pestle to grind them up into a snuff-like powder, or puts them in jars of seawater to make a solution).
