bonus nerdy explanation-

todomatsu; small, fuzzy, cute looking thing but with a mouth running its entire body length from tail tip- front mouth talks nicely, basically splits in half to trash talk you into the grave, judgemental and cynical, has eyes that look through you

karamatsu; looks imposing and spiky until you realise the real eyes are behind those square blinkers and it is constantly hugging itself- if it stops it will unravel and fall apart, usually talks from the mouths on its horn, zipper-sealed mouth doesn’t open very often

osomatsu; one armed bandicoot I know it’s terrible I just, playing card teeth are always grinning, sometimes they fall out to show a second row of teeth that wear a kinder smile behind them, likes to be complimented a lot, also composed of roulette wheels, dice, playing chips etc.

choromatsu; badly balanced crane made largely of cloth and paper fans, the neck feathers are actually sweat beads, the oval on its chest it how it sees, the mask splits vertically for it to talk

jyushimatsu; HYPERSPACE KANGAROO (you can see the face in the carousel panel), stitched together in various places in much the same fashion as a baseball, eyes always see in two directions so it often sees what other people don’t, it must constantly move or it will come to pieces

ichimatsu; a low, long-tailed cat covered in crosses, the face is always unseen
