Some good news amidst the bad news: Japan is fine! The tsunami wound up being literally 30cm tall, no one was injured, and the earthquake the caused it was far enough offshore it didn't do any damage. There have been some posts on tumblr w/ false info (actually from 2011), so I thought it'd be good to clear things up.
