hey do any of you know/recommend a program for talking at your computer so that it writes it out for you? because if I can write stuff without having to type it will save my arms a heck of a lot of grief

idk if it matters but I’m currently using a mac, but yeah, know any good ones?

  4. kyro-design answered: Not sure if it works on Macs, but Dragon is a program, my brother used it a few years ago and it seemed to work fine.
  5. professorwetware said: Dragon naturally speaking. However, there are just some things it cannot figure out. You need to proofread carefully.
  6. nicoleanddimed answered: i think i used nuance dragon in school and it worked p good and it looks like there’s a mac version. sry for the super uncertain answer…

  8. rainwvalker answered: support.apple.com/en-us… Apparently Mac’s already have a dictation feature. I’m not sure how good it is, as I am a PC user, but it does mean it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to buy. That link tells you how to open it up. Ciao!
  9. karkatthecrab answered: I’ve heard that Dragon is pretty good, but I haven’t used it myself yet.
  10. fligleflorence answered: i would say the dragon software. its expensive but i’ve seen a lot of good reviews
  11. 0operson answered: Apparently Mac has ‘Dictations’ under system preferences (I did not know this, I need it and I did not know this). There’s also voiceover, where it reads stuff /to/ you. Hope that helps!
  12. jamaginary answered: Dragon Dictate for Mac, but it’s like $150 USD.
  13. ocelly answered: if you’re using Yosemite they have a speak recognition program built in, even in text edit just open the Edit menu and the start diction option is at the second to bottom of the list.
  14. slowlymoresleepless answered: I think there is one called dragon?
  15. thedoodledworld answered: your mac should have in inbuilt program that is basic, but ok, if you don’t rush it. Ibut if you pay dragon is good. Have a shech online there are loads
  16. slim-dickens answered: Dragon assistant is pretty good. I haven’t used it in a while just because i don’t ever use it but I know when I was playing around and it was hard to make it mess up a word.
  17. purple--ponytail said: I’d like to know too, but for gaming and stuff I use VoiceAttack
  18. flippingthebluebird said: I’ve found that Dragon products work pretty well.
  19. philosophy-in-blue answered: i think there’s this one called dragonfly that people use
  20. kinthulou answered: If you’re using the latest OS, Mac has a pretty sweet dictation thing built in! I think it’s hiding under system preferences somewhere, and you have to teach it a little bit at first, but I’ve used it lots!
  21. raishe said: I have dragon. It takes a while to program to your voice, but it gets easier after a few weeks.

  23. kessiegee answered: Mac got it all automatically…! At least mine does. I use the program “Word” and in the options you could technically select the dictaion-option and there you go :) I don’t know how this stuff is called in English though since I’m a German user
  24. pumpkinradisharchive answered: I think that other person is thinking of Dragon Naturally Speaking. As someone who’s used it, it takes a bit to set up and ‘program’, but 10/10 would recommend if you can find a mac version.
  25. the-salem-witch-institute answered: i thikn itws called dragonspeak
  26. parapsychologicalvulpes said: I know there was a program a while back that apparently had a good feedback rate, but I can’t recall the name of it? Dragon-something, I think it was? OTL
  27. pisceancryptid answered: the only one i know of is Dragon, but it’s on the expensive side of things unfortunately.
  28. malicious-lavalamps answered: dragon naturally speaking is good (expensive tho)
  29. darkdraculina said: Dragon by Nuance is a good program. I know a few of my friends who use it for work and from what I’ve seen its pretty reliable.
  30. dr-vblschrf answered: a lot of macs have that built in now. it’s called dictation and you should have it in your system preferences under dictation and speech. it’s hit-or-miss; i’ve used it often enough that it’s pretty useful but it’s not perfect.
  31. jfox191 answered: The only one that i know of that i hear is pretty good is a program called Dragon.
  32. yamitamiko answered: my laptop came with Dragon software, it does a pretty good job of recognizing what I’m saying even without a mic and without training it to my dialect/accent
