balthasarx answered: since you use patreon for it rather than your own site this does not apply to you. See the flow chart on the page you linked.

ingle-name-change answered: As far as I can tell, your patreon isnt actually selling a product, so you are fine. and if it was selling a product, if you have at least one live stream a month with viewer feedback. You could also sell blank pdfs through amazon instead of patreon.

reddpenn answered: It doesn’t look like this applies to you at all. I think you’re fine.
izzikat answered: That’s horrible! Wtf. They really should rewrite that law to spare small time companies/creative people. >:[

dandywonderous answered: From that flowchart it looks like the changes shouldn’t affect you. That said, you’d be better off contacting HRMC directly than asking tumblr. Patreon might also know more.

curvedcat said: Like dude I wish I could help, bureaucracy is my worst nightmare tbh
curvedcat answered: I think I heard about a similar shit in my country too, but neither I’m sure about what kind of stuff is this or how much we digital artist are affected. I want to launch a pateron too at some point, but I need to know if it’s legal to do so.
potentialforart answered: Looking at that flowchart, where it says you’re using a third party website and not your own for money, I think you’re safe?

seinrunarako answered: ahh, no, you shouldn'y be affected! the flowchart at the bottom says that if you offer your product/service purely through a third party website (e.g Patreon) then you will not be affected by the rule change! At least, I sincerely hope that’s correct

Reblogging to ask if any of my followers can help and give advice. This is an awesome artist and creator and I’d hate...

k25ff answered: Follow that flowchart, email HMRC if you’re not sure. Patreon sounds like it’s a third party marketplace.

wemarchalonearchive answered: basically what it means is that if you dont comply with the new stuff you’ll be committing tax fraud since patreon is based in america. :( its really stupid and it sucks a lot but idk what can really be done to get past it.
