Anonymous asked: What if you only wanted to dye certain parts of your hair? How would you go about bleaching it then if you know?

If it’s a complete section from root to tip (like your bangs for example) it’s best to separate off that section from the rest of your hair. I’ve known people do this by wearing a plastic bag, cutting a small hole in it and pulling the hair to be bleached through to the other side, or covering the bleached area with tinfoil as each part is completed. It’s a bit of a faff and I haven’t done it myself, but those are the techniques I’ve been told about. As for just bleaching the roots, you’re best off with using one of those nozzle-bottle bleach kits or getting a friend to do it for you using a brush.

Either way it’s a bit more effort, and I haven’t actually done either so I’m not the best person to ask! Sorry! However if you have long hair and just want to bleach and dye the ends I’ve helped a friend do that before and it worked a treat; just apply the bleach to the bottom half of the hair and let it hang down. It’ll ruin the shirt you’re wearing (best to wear long sleeves so it doesn’t go on your skin) but it’s easy enough!
