hoo boy that FAQ sure was out of date fiiixed iiiit
Anonymous asked: No I like that you pointed it out, don't feel bad. And looking closer I can see what you mean. I always thought it was because the animals were all fake models where as the people were in capture suits. But I dunno, it might be what you were saying! Either way its cool that you noticed!! (also are you looking forward to the next movie, there's a lot of different opinions going around about it!)
Actually that could well be a contributing factor; if everything were hand animated, their animation style would stand out less, but since there is a distinct difference between the motion origins of the humans and the animals then it registers (to some people) as an anomaly. Also yes, I am looking forward to the next (two?) films! Don’t get me wrong about any of this I loved the movie, and as someone who grew up reading the comics I was so grateful and relieved that it was as well made as it was- on that note, I know a lot of people didn’t go to see it on the basis that it would ruin Tintin for them. If you still haven’t because of that, I do understand, but don’t worry! It’s good! Give it a try, you will probably love it as much as I did!
Anonymous asked: I hope this isnt a bother but you rebloged a tintin post and I saw your tags and was wondering what your problem with snowy were? (Character? Animation??)??? Not trying to start anything I just really like your view on things and was wondering what you meant by that?! :)
oh gosh now I feel bad XD but yeah it was just a hybrid of the animation and character design- out of all the characters both he and the cat he chases in one of the scenes felt the most ‘uncanny valley’; having said that they were still very accomplished, but compared to the finish on the human characters it just sticks out if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing (or it did to me, you’re welcome to disagree I mean hell it’s not like I could replicate it myself hot damn). The real pity is that in the tests that were part of the pitch Snowy’s model was different and looked much more natural, so idk maybe it’s just a personal thing having spent so much of my life around animals and in animation but there are moments with him that bug me.
