I love this game and this character but with the whole mess with Hiveswap (that might or might not have happened??? does anyone even know for sure) I’m just, I don’t know what to feel about anything? I almost feel bad for loving it? it’s the most beautiful game in the world and exactly my kind of genre and it breaks my heart that I can’t enjoy it as deeply and sincerely as I want to :’I
There’s a migration crisis going on right now in Europe, about 350.000 people from Syria, Afghanistan, etc have come to Europe through rubber boats (which aren’t safe at all) because there is war going on in their countries. About two thousand people have already died at sea. The governments all over Europe don’t know what to do and are basically fighting about who gets more refugees and who doesn’t. These people, they need help. They are camping at the borders (Calais - between France and the UK and Greece p.ex.) and they need help - clothes, food, everything that’s useful they need it, and most importantly, they need a new home.
If
you’re enjoying the comic or any of the other stories I’ve been making please consider supporting me on Patreon or have a look if there’s anything that tickles your fancy in my Society6 merch box :D
Anonymous asked: I know you must hear things such as this a lot, but I just wanted to say how truly grateful I am to have discovered you and your work. You bring something amazingly refreshing into the world and I strongly admire you as a creator and a person! I am perpetually enthralled, fascinated and awestruck with TPoH, and the other examples of universes, characters and stories I have seen on your blog. You are an inspiration! Hugs for you, my friend.
They’re all phenomenal. If you have five minutes, please watch each of them. Warning: some hit HARD.
Mary Blair (1911-1978)
Worked for Ub Iwerks, MGM, and eventually Disney. Known for creating incredibly vibrant watercolors, which clashed with the studio aesthetic at the time. Disney eventually let her loose, and her aesthetic can be strongly seen in Cinderella, Peter Pan, and especially Alice in Wonderland.
Evelyn Lambart (1914-1999)
Hearing-impaired Canadian animator who worked with Norman McLaren on several pieces that the Canadian government would later declare masterworks. She directed her own films, making her one of the first women in animation to take the director’s chair. She was known for scratching up film stock to create “jazz” like patterns, the sort of thing you’d later see in Fantasia,Donald in Mathmagic Land, and the like.
Lotte Reininger (1899-1981)
German director who created the technique of silhouette animation, preceding Disney by 10 years. Started out making titles for movies and moved on to make her own animated feature, The Adventures of Prince Achmed, in 1926!As for the rest of her career, well - watch the short.
Claire Parker (1906-1981)
Created the “pinscreen” animation technique, where 240,000 tiny metal rods were manually manipulated in and out of a board in order to create an animation – think tweaking pixels by hand. She and she alone owned the patent on it.
Alison de Vere (1927-2001)
One of the first women to work in British animation, and was design director for The Yellow Submarine. She went on to create many animated shorts at a commercial studio, winning prizes for virtually almost every single one of them. She is often credited as Britain’s first female animation auteur.
Heres a little project Ive been working on during my downtime between jobs 8) I found trace-101 ‘s Crystal Gem Rag one day and immediately wanted to animate to it! This was super fun
Okay, staff, I am super freaking pissed about the update and here’s why.
I cannot read your new format.
I’m not trying to be whiny or nitpicky or over-dramatic. I can appreciate that you were attempting to make things look more organised/less confusing/whatever. I also expect the new format is a great improvement for people who have screen readers. That’s great. That’s fine.
I just cannot freaking read this. I have dyslexia, and my dyslexia is set off by pictures, bold, italics, anything that is more “interesting” to my brain than plain, unadorned text.
Like this monstrosity:
Look at it. Just look at it. The pictures get in between the lines of text, there’s distracting colors and pictures everywhere. The names are bolded when they’re really not the most important thing. Looking at this, I see everything except what I’m supposed to see, that cheesy series of puns. (No pun intended.)
You literally couldn’t have made a worse format for me if you’d tried.
The thing is, your format was what made me really like Tumblr in the first place. It was super clear who was writing something new, because look, there was a freaking line pointing right to it. Unless someone started writing in all caps or bold or whatever, all the text in a post had the same amount of emphasis. Finally, SOMETHING ON THE INTERNET I COULD READ.
And now, now I can’t read any of it at all.
So yeah, I’m pissed.
Like, I know that you’re not going to change it back, because you never seem to listen when anyone on your site complains about anything. I’m not sure why I bothered writing this to you guys, given your track record.
But now’s your chance to prove me wrong. Seriously, the least you could do is give us an option here. You’ve still got the old code. Just stick a button somewhere to revert to the old format so I can enjoy my text posts in peace.
Sincerely,
Dyslexic Blogger
SIGNAL BOOST because I really hope Tumblr pays attention to this. I’m sure Miraniel’s not the only Tumblr blogger/reader in this position.
