so the thing about my family is that we have two ancestors on my dad’s side who were buried in france, where I currently live. one died in the spanish civil war, and one died prior doing…we don’t know what. but he somehow managed to get buried in père lachaise.

so anyhow, my gran sends me a message like “pls put flowers on ur uncle samuel’s grave because he’s gone over a century with none and it will make the ghost mad if he hasn’t already” because my family spends time in europe but never long enough to go all the way to père lachaise and give ya boy samuel jr. his death rites. so im like “ok gran I can do that” bc im a good grandson and you do not fuck with gran she doesn’t DESERVE THAT

i figure out which plot he’s on and ask someone specifically where you can find uncle samuel jr. and they tell me where and so I arrive at the junction and.

HE GONE.

WHERE DID YOU GO UNCLE SAMUEL.

*celine dion’s smash hit “my heart will go on” playing in the distance*

in other words either someone stole my entire great great uncle samuel or he has risen again, ready to party in paris for all of eternity.

You’re pretty chill about a corpse disappearing.

My guy, my dude, he’s been dead since 1851. He could be anywhere. He does what he wants.

tpohalbum:

tpohalbum:

Hi again everyone! I have the pleasure of bringing you some long-awaited news. If you have any musically talented friends who would be excited about the opportunity to participate, you better tell them about the project now, because we have a deadline!

In honor of Modmad’s birthday, the deadline for submissions to become a musician is March 6, 2017.

Applying here as soon as possible will give us the maximum time to review your submission and ask you any questions that we need to before making our decision. I’ve had the chance to hear a bunch of great samples, and let me tell you, it’s making me super excited for what we’re going to create. We’re in a good place now, but the more the merrier. We look forward to hearing from you!

-Mod Ucklin

Don’t forget this deadline! In the meantime, keep reblogging the first post to get the word out!!

-Mod Toris

Various comics and illustrations by Tiger Tateishi.

Tiger Tateishi - Known for his surreal paintings, his comics are noteworthy for  their interesting psychedelic gags that use an early manga visual vocabulary. Very different from his paintings. Want to find more of this.

  • TATEISHI Tiger was born in Fukuoka in 1941.
  • In 1963, he submitted a large collage to the 15th Yomiuri Independent Exhibition, which received much attention. Subsequently he went on to be heavily influenced by Pop Art, which he aptly converted to address aspects of Japanese everyday life as well as the country’s current issues.
  • From the mid ‘60s, he gradually began to draw cartoons.
  • In 1969 he moved to Italy, where he worked for Olivetti typewriters as a designer, while finding time to exhibit his paintings at such places as Alexander Iolas gallery.
  • From the mid 80’s his work began to feature epitomizing motifs of Japan, such as Mt. Fuji.
  • In 1998, he passed away in Chiba prefecture. From his inception as an artist in 1962, until 1967, TATEISHI Tiger was known by his birth name of TATEISHI Kouichi. But from 1968 until mid 1990, he developed, for its convenient catchiness, the moniker Tiger TATEISHI, which was not only written in ‘kana’, the phonetic notation reserved for non-Japanese words, but the order of first and last name was switched to mimic the Western manner. Although he continues to be remembered posthumously by the same moniker, the ‘kana’ has been converted to Chinese characters and the order of first and last name has been reverted to the original Japanese manner.

Just a quick health catchup- I’m doing much better now, but do keep having dizzy spells and generally odd brain hijinks. Still waiting on the date for seeing a specialist but the friendly folks of the NHS are on the case and I am doing what I can to keep TPatJ and TPoH moving. I might have trouble updating next week as I’m visiting my sister but hopefully I will make some actual drawings for you guys eventually rather than just reblogging 24/7 :’D
