friendlytroll asked: Oh my gosh! The publishing company being named after Gladstone... could it have anything to do with this one Gladstone story I remember? In it, Uncle Scrooge decided to put Gladstone and Donald up to running a business, so the competition would light a fire under Donald. BUT Gladstone's luck meant he was starting to compete with Scrooge So he decided to save his skin by putting Gladstone in a market so unlucky, with so little money in it, Scrooge'd never entered it. ...A comic publisher.
you’re KIDDING ME
I’VE NEVER READ THIS AND THAT’S AMAZING
Anonymous asked: Ha! I never thought of the parallel with Gladstone being a good-looking asshat who could (probably) get away with murder, I guess this means that he's a Wilde Goose huh?
You. You get an award for that pun how did I not see that
Absolutely could not get the idea of Gladstone being “Durkburg’s answer to Dorian Gray” out of my head it was too perfect an image to pass up on
Mildly melancholy fop? Original sour-grapes flavour? I don’t even know which adaptation I prefer but I sure as heck am excited to see how he fares in the new Ducktales reboot!
Anonymous asked: I am super curious now- is there anywhere online I can read this fabled 'Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck'?
miraculously, yes! I found it yesterday by pure accident- I do, however, highly recommend seeking it out as a printed copy and giving support to the people responsible for making it if you can. It’s a joy to own and a constant source of inspiration. The same goes for any compilations of Carl Barks, Don Rosa, Topolino/Gladstone published comics- heck, any of the duck comics for that matter!

Anonymous asked: Re: The question with a link, that's fine! It's cool if you don't answer, I was just worried because of there being a link. :) I was curious if you've read the "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" by Don Rosa, or listened to the album based on it? The album is by one of the guys from Nightwish, and it's avalible to listen to for free on vimeo. ("Music Inspired by the Life and Times... etc.") by Tuomas Holopainen.
Ah! Yes I most certainly have, gosh, what a classic, but I haven’t listened to the album yet perhaps I’ll have a search for that tomorrow.
