Anonymous asked: I read your ambidextrous drawing post and I wanna mention a good tip to y'all from a left-handed artist: If you can afford it, buy yourself a mouse with a numberpad on it and assign all of your tools to the buttons (along with undo/redo). You can swap tools without ever having to move your pen to do so and it makes everything so much faster! This also applies to right-handed artists who use their mice left-handed, but idk if people make numpad mouses for left-handed people
Anonymous asked: hi mod!!!! im really excited about writing my own comic one day, but im a bit worried about some of the technical stuff. what do you think is the best resolution/canvas size for a web comic? your pages always look beautiful and clear and its yummy
cool! also yeah technical stuff can get you bogged down but honestly? as long as ur working at 300 dpi you use what shape/size feels right- comics don’t have to be any particular shape! I use the A4 format bc I always loved the size and ratio of the Tintin comics, and I figured that was as close to that as I could get
was going to do a 20 page comic about jose and gladstone talking about their past relationship and break up but like. i forgot im lazy and will not clean up AND color 20 pages. sooooo have some yeah. have the drafts
Anonymous asked: thank you so much for making the duck comics! I am from Japan and my whole family have read them a great deal, but yours feel just like the originals by Mr Barks and Mr Rosa- I especially like how you keep Magica and her ambitions so true, and I love all the real feelings and hard work you put into it! Thank you for reintroducing me and many other to the comics- do your best, Uncle Mod!
/kisses this message a thousand times/ THANK YOU! I’m so glad! I will do my best! also it seems like I’ve got a few new followers who are wondering what ‘type’ of duck lore I stick to, and the truth is its a big mixture but it’s all taken from the comics, which are great and have always been a big inspiration to me and lots of other artists! if you haven’t already, try giving them a read if you have the time :D
cardinailed0 asked: Sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to say something about that technique you used to be able to draw with your left hand — it's working for me so far!! I might finally be able to draw with both hands to balance the pressure- thank you so much!!! I love you and your art and it inspires me a lot! Have a nice day ♡
that’s so awesome! remember to take it steady though- take breaks frequently and do stretches! doesn’t matter if that hand doesn’t get tendonitis usually, you’re putting it under more strain than normal and it’s no good if you wind up with neither hand able to do anything! same to anyone out there who’s trying to learn to be ambidextrous- be patient, be forgiving to yourself and your body, and keep going!
i love little kids with very niche interests. Like for awhile I nannied for a family who had a little girl who loved old black and white movies. She adopted a transatlantic accent, constantly wore a long string of plastic pearls, and would often dramatically drape herself over pieces of furniture when told to do something and say “I just can’t do it babe”
i once dropped her stuffed animal and she yelled “there’s been a murder!”
