Anonymous asked: I think Massimo and your version of drawing Gladstone is my favourite because it's stated repeatedly that he's meant to be good looking? and in some of the stories it was like eh I guess??? but you two make it like oH. OH so THAT's what a good looking duck looks like
omg being counted alongside Massimo Fecchi is such a huge compliment I’m dying, but also aahahahaha! thank you? shucks :’D
ambitiion-0 asked: Once again.....flagged as sensitive.
but…. why
tumblr do you find ducks to be so explicit
actually you know what you folks know me well enough to know I like, basically never post nsfw content? and I can’t be turning safe mode on and off to check this nonsense so like just trust me guys if tumblr flags my posts again it is basically guaranteed to be a goof up. I’d appreciate it if you could keep telling staff that it’s okay though because my god this is so annoying…
Anonymous asked: On TV Tropes there's mention of a comics where Gladstone saves Donald from drowning and I wonder if you'd heard of it? According to the page it's called "Donald's Lucky Day", but I've only found the 1939 cartoon under that name (which is really cute, btw, but no Gladstone).
I stg everyone who’s been on the Gladstone tvtropes page asks this question- including me! XD I haven’t found a readable comic version (untranslated or translated) but this might be the one? I don’t know for sure though. Searching on I.N.D.U.C.K.S. for that title brings up these results but there are an awful lot I haven’t read!
Oh, I know the comic - I have it. \^w^/ It’s called “Kalles Turdag” (Donald’s Lucky Day) in Swedish. :)
I don’t know how to add pictures to a post I reblog, but if someone can send me a message on how to do it, then I can reblog this post again with the pictures of Gladstone saving Donald from drowning. :)
(I don’t have a working scanner though, so I’ll have to take photos of the pages, just so you guys know).
Thank you for the note explaning what to do, @modmad - hopefully this will work now! \^w^/
Okay, for everyone then: To understand these pages better, Donald found a five-clover wish gave him luck, but in turn it unknowingly also took away Gladstone’s luck. Escaping the city they believed had gone crazy, they fell asleep together below a bridge. Donald, deciding he has had enouh of the crazy good luck, gave his five-clover to Gladstone to even it out a little before they fell asleep. (Donald hadn’t connected everything to the clover and his wish for good luck at this point).
Since my version of the comic is in Swedish I figured I should translate it for you guys too. :)
| G: Gladstone | D: Donald | [xxxx] : The yellow box. |
Page 01, Pic 01. G: “Thank you cousin! Perhaps my bad luck will turn around again.” D: “It was no problem.” G: “I wish I had luck again.” D: “And now we try to sleep!”
Pic 02: G: “ZzZ… Wish… luck… back…” D: “ZzZ”
Pic 03: [Next Morning] D: “Yawn” D: “What now… I’m outside!? Are we camping, or?”
Pic 04: D: “No, nonsense… I hate camping!” D: “…Where is my car?”
Pic 02: G: “(You) should never swim if you’re not AWAKE! It’s dangerous, Donald!”
Pic 03: G: “What were you thinking?” D: “Blutt.” <– (I have no idea what that would translate to. I think it’s just supposed to be a sound of Donald spitting(?) out the water).
Pic 04: - Gladstone dropped the clover.
Pic 05: D: “?” G: “?”

I hope this was to some help for you guys! \^w^/
If you want to I can add all of the pages in a new post later, but that will have to wait until after my errands in that case. :)
Btw, this comic was from the Donald Duck pocket book nr.354 (in Sweden), and is named “Kalles Turdag” (”Donald’s lucky Day”). :)
Part 5, I think I’m only missing 2 pictures? (My own book was a test page for inking and testing what would work so not really worth showing off.) Hopefully they’ll be shown soon!

repeatedly getting asked how to draw the ducks’ beaks and the truth is I’m still learning how to do it myself! these are some notes I made to help myself though so maybe you’ll be able to understand them???
I imagine the cartoon beaks to be very flexible but kind of ‘meaty’, like pliable leather or fabric stretched over a strong but bendy plastic/wire/foam structure
