Anonymous asked: Hey Mod, I need some comic advice. I've been planning this story for years and I think I finally have the thing planned from start to finish but I'm absolutely terrified to start drawing the pages and releasing them so people can read. Just wondering how I can get over this? I'm so worried I'll make something I'm not proud of.
I’m afraid that’s just a sort of leap of faith you have to make yourself, but look at it this way- if you make nothing, you can’t be proud of anything, because you ain’t got jack shit! if you make something, even if you don’t like the whole thing, there’s a something- and that something didn’t even exist before! heck yeah! congratulations, you just contributed to the universe (and anyway making bad stuff is how you learn to make good stuff that’s just How it Go)
Anonymous asked: Can you make another magicstone? P.S. I like your drawings
if you mean another doodle comic with them I sure as heck am gonna, also I apologise that this next one with Donald, Fethry and Gladstone is way below usual standard but I a) made a dumb decision with how I was gonna draw it that I regret but have to stick to and b) my hands are like kinda falling apart? there’s a lot going on anyway maybe I’ll get the first part finished tomorrow if I’m lucky
Its national dog day so have a dog thats native to the Dreamon’s world. Meet the Bargeyest. Its easy getting lost in the Dreamon’s world but this helpful pup will find lost souls and guide them to where they need to go.
If you like the idea of having more than one page of TPoH a week or just want to help keep a soul and body together, please consider supporting me on Patreon, even just one or two dollars a month helps!
Anonymous asked: Unca Mod, can you give us tips on how to find duck stories, please? Also- I'm French, and a lot of the duck comics I read as a kid were translated from Italian, and I'd looove to find them again, but I have no idea if they ever got an English release and if so what were the titles... In any case, thank you so much for what you're doing- I started looking into my old comics again thanks to you and it brought back lots of happy memories :')
Ah, well my friends it is time for me to introduce you to the wonder that is I.N.D.U.C.K.S.
this is an amazing search engine, just for duck comics! here’s an example of how to use it; type in some aspect that you’re looking for (here I’ll use the title of the story)
then you get a list of possible answers- scrolling down I find the one I’m looking for fairly quickly
clicking on the right result takes you to a page for that specific story with all the data available, describing the contents and artists responsible, but if you’re looking for a particular translation keep scrolling down; here I’m looking for the English (US) translation
so with that I know this story appears in number 374 of Uncle Scrooge which was printed in 2008- a quick hop over to readcomiconline and I find it easily
and that’s all there is to it! sometimes the tricky part is which category of comics it will be in on readcomiconline, as there are so many runs of Donald/Scrooge comics. This one was fairly simple, but use your intuition and you’ll probably find what you’re looking for. I hope that helps, and happy hunting!
Anonymous asked: oh man I remember that 'munchkin' story- I don't think i was ever sold on magica having a crush on Donald though, considering she was under the influence of magic basically the whole time, I saw it more as her gaining some insight as to why Daisy and Donald are important to each other
right? I think that’s how I saw that story too- someone who doesn’t really feel a need for or have an interest in relationships getting a little first person experience of what it’s like to be a person who does
Anonymous asked: Uncle mod! I was wondering if you could help me find a comic! It's called "A date with munchkin" where magica disguises herself as daisy and goes on a date with Donald, but ends up falling for him(like a gal for Gladstone lol). I've tried but I couldn't find it. Knowing your detective skills for things like this, I'm hoping you can. Please and thank you!!!
Incidentally this comic/scan also contains another one of my fav Don Rosa stories- the Last Sled to Dawson, and a really cool ‘what if’ kind of comic by Lars Jensen and Marco Rota; What Goes Around, so consider reading those too!
