Anonymous asked: why don't your comics show up in the tags? that comic doesn't appear in the Gladstone Gander/Magicstone/Magica De Spell tags even though you used them >:U

! well look at that, I have no idea! ngl that’s kind of a bummer :C

0chromat:

test warm up speedpaint. I’ll try to make a habit of at least drawing personal work more regularly for practice, plus posting more art + comics + blurbs regularly on this blog so there’s less long periods of silence.

A tentative magnus comic title is “division 0″, but the comic itself may not release for awhile unfortunately, since I am still swamped with work and soon going to be moving, but there’s no reason not to keep drawing and painting.

ask-the-hatbox-ghost asked: Readin' the new comic an' lovin' it. But I noticed you draw the Dime with a duck version of the "heads" character? Don Rosa drew a human woman there. Is there any comic using a duck that I'm not aware of? Or did you make the change yourself?

eh, I just felt weird having a human head on a coin in a world inhabited by cartoon animals :’D I think they use a duck head in the new Ducktales show as well but it just felt more natural to me than a human one (no disrespect to Don Rosa he’s just amazing for accuracy in props and settings)

Anonymous asked: I just saw that you posted the first part of your new duck comic and I got so excited that I nearly choked on the apple that I was eating

anon no plz don’t die

Anonymous asked: hey uncle mod idk if you meant to do this or not but I’ve noticed that you’ve been drawing magica with longer hair recently and i 1000000% love that thank you (and thank you for your doodle comics they give us all life)

hehe! well I figured I should give her similar hair to the style she has it in Gal for Gladstone- I still headcanon that she can change how long it is via magic so I figure she’d have it any length she wants it >:>

Anonymous asked: holy crap what a cliffhanger, also it's a little bit frightening how to-the-bone your arguments are in these comics! I'd be terrified of getting into an argument with you!

hilariously I am HORRIBLE at being in actual arguments, my whole brain freezes up and 9/10 times I end up crying bc I’m too emotional and I can’t formulate my thoughts at all :’D luckily I am a Master of Avoiding Conflict mostly because I can’t stand it

oh boy this one took some time huh- as ever, new tabs and full size is the best reading experience! and if you don’t know about who Matilda is hit up this summary/link to the original here

part one of two, part two is up here!

Anonymous asked: Uncle Mod, just curious - I know you sometimes draw with your non-dominant hand and I know you have particular reasons for that but I was wondering if you think learning to do it has developed your mental or visual artistic skills. Would you recommend it as a general drawing exercise?

I’m not sure! I think it’s a good idea though, just because then if one of your hands fails for any reason you have a back up- and trust me, if someone as clumsy as me can learn how to do it anybody can! I just takes time and a bit of patience with yourself- even doing simple things like learning to brush your teeth or eat your cereal left handed contributes!
