I did that pokemon meme on twitter where people tell you what pokemon type you are and I pretty much unanimously got Dragon/Fairy so here are some takes.
First thought was a Galar regional variant of Togetic and Togekiss where they are Fairy Dragon types and based on the welsh red dragon. Like their cousins they are attracted to happiness but instead of fleeing from negativity they will actively attack anything disrupting their peaceful territory to protect said happiness.
I then tried some original designs and landed on a mascot type theme.
Their general story is that they were hunted a long time ago because people thought they were dangerous. Over time they changed to become more cute so people would instead find them likeable. They are now popular as mascots in children’s entertainment. Some still find them creepy or annoying though and to be fair despite its cute appearance it is still dangerous. While it does enjoy attention and entertaining it becomes extremely aggressive if its overstimulated or tired so having live events with one is not recommended.
