Only my heart is still majorly bruised from their personalities being changed so much. I actually feel like I can't watch the show because I just see what has been removed or flattened out, not the good stuff which I know is there :C

aw anon I’m sorry to hear that, and a part of me does relate- if it’s hurting you to watch it, perhaps it is best to just say ‘this isn’t for me’ and stop, which is okay! as for the request, a) you’re right I don’t really take them but also b) I actually really like the new designs for them, but as I’ve said before I see these as two completely different characters. They are not the Gyro and Glomgold from the comics, either visually or in terms of personality, so I don’t really feel moved to make them look like it. Also I already feel kinda bad for making an alternate Gladstone design in case people from the show take offence, but really that was just a personal fun/vent project thing- I don’t really want to get known as the go-to person for redesigning Ducktales characters!

Maybe one day I’ll try ‘Ducktales-ifying’ the comic versions for fun, like- try drawing the originals in the new form/line style, but I kind of need to want to do it for fun for that to happen!

I report that they were fluffy and adorable and had very nice outfits. The only thing I found sad was the complete and utter lack of Gladstone anywhere in the whole place.

I follow the DLT Disney Colours twitter and my gosh the outfits are SO cute :’D also sadly not surprised by that- along with being more obscure than other characters, I’m afraid outside of the tumblr tag Gladstone isn’t very popular! I’m not sure he’d be received well as a park character (although, maybe he would get the glamour of a disney villain face character instead?! who knows)

it is fun and ridiculous and awesome and has a lot of zippers, I actually really like how they wrote Donald in it and my only complaint is that there is Never Enough Scrooge

it’s one of my major pet peeves with the new show’s design for him- in the comics there is a very distinct difference between his beak and all the other ducks, but in the new cartoon there is no difference and that along with giving him the same eye size hurts my soul a little bit… they are small differences but it adds such a big dimension to the distinction between the ducks and him :’I anyway I tried to make mine more smooth and pointy instead of the angled end the others have but it’s not particularly easy when Donald’s new beak is already so long and sharp edged :’D
