Anonymous asked: Asexual? Asexual! Me too!

Anonymous asked: Mod, sorry if I'm going to say something stupid but I feel like I'm ace, and at the same time I sometimes think about sex (generally not involving myself) even though I don't feel any sexual urge towards anything... Do you think it's possible to be ace and then change and become "something" else? (sorry if you did not understand me, I can't really speak English well)

sure! I don’t see why not? anyway, it’s not my place to categorise you- if you find a label that gives you a sense of identity that’s wonderful, but don’t think that you have to ‘fit’ into a box; most of us are a mixture of several kinds of places on the gender/sexuality spectrum, just be patient and allow yourself time to understand your feelings, and be kind to yourself! don’t be angry that you aren’t sure what you are; self discovery is an ongoing journey, so let it go on!

REblog if you are Asexual, support Asexuals, or spend most of your time actually thinking about Superheroes.

truth be told I grew up with a mix of the blond/white feather look, depending on the comic- and yes, I prefer the blond! However, my argument for it being the more canon of the two is that in every oil painting Carl Barks did he gave Gladstone blond coloured feathers- we also have to remember that he didn’t have a huge amount of control over what colours the comics were given, so while he may have striven to imply it with the contouring and curls he drew Gladstone’s hair with, the process of colouring them yellow may have been thought too complex/ignored by the colourists of the comics

Anonymous asked: You know, I’ve always wondered, since sometimes straight people get shit for shipping gay pairings, and gay/bi people for shipping straight, do ace/aro people get shit for shipping in general - and now that you’ve confirmed it - I’m not surprised but still overall disappointed.

to be fair it’s only happened a very few times- about three times by anonymous folks (one was sort of weirdly polite about it but I still was like :/ okay) and once by an actual friend who I sat down and had A Talk with and now he knows more, has grown as a person and was very sincerely apologetic about it :’D

I think it’s just one of those things that comes from a simple lack of understanding, and a lot of people are still very new to the idea of ace/aro people and how they ‘work’. It’s hard to be patient sometimes, but if we can educate people and spread that understanding at a basic level then there will automatically be an increase in tolerance and a decrease in unnecessary and oppressive policing (both in terms of shipping and irl relationships- as in the case of my pan friend who gets all sorts of flack for dating a man, because that means she’s straight somehow???). It’s a slow process but one we can all keep working on, and doing so with kindness and an open eagerness to learn is the best way!

Anonymous asked: hey mod! i was going over the kickstarter info and realized that I'll be moving before the books are delivered, is there any way to change the shipping address?

had a few asks like this so I checked with the Make That Thing folks and here’s the answer!

so there you go- if you think you may need to change the address, please go ahead and do so! you should be safe for the rest of April but I’d advise you to be certain of the address before May, as I don’t know when exactly things will start happening. best of luck!
